Nach sorgfältigem Verschließen des Deckels werden die Saiten ca. 5 min bis ca. 10 min in dem Reinigungsbad ge schwenkt. Dann werden die Saiten aus dem Bad genommen und mit einem zu dem Reinigungssets gehörenden Frotteetuch trockenge rieben. Das Tuch dient zugleich zur Abdeckung der Saiten in dem Baßkoffer, einer Transporttasche o. ä., und es läßt sich zur Abdeckung der Saiten eines nicht in Gebrauch befindlichen Basses mit einem Aufhänger an dessen Mechanik anhängen. Bevor zugte Maße für das Tuch sind ca. 1,1 m mal ca. 0,16 m.
