Abstract

Telescopic arms carry a wheel fork, a wheel axis with a running wheel, and a lower inner telescopic arm is sprung which means that each wheel of the pair is individually sprung. An alternative arrangement inside of the telescopic arms is to use pivot arms. In order to achieve an equal transmission of spring pressure in each drive position (inclination when negotiating curves) on each wheel, the upper stops are not fixed in the upper telescopic tube, but consist of sliding bodies in this tube and the spaces above them are filled with fluid (1), e.g. brake oil and communicate with each other via a tubular connection (2). USE/ADVANTAGE - For motorcycles, to provide greater safety when aquaplaning occurs and when negotiating curves and inclined surfaces.

Description

Bei Automobilen wurden Zwillingsräder an den Vorderachsen vor Jahren mit Erfolg bei Aquaplaning versucht. Zwillingsräder an Einspurfahrzeugen müßten auch solche Vorteile, u. a., bringen. Da bei Kurvenfahrten dieser Fahrzeuge aber starke Schrägneigungen nötig sind, würde das in der Kurve außenliegende Rad je nach Neigung der Maschine einen immer geringeren Druck auf den Boden ausüben und könnte gar vom Boden abheben, wenn beide Zwillingsräder auf einer Achse liefen. Deshalb muß jedes Rad seine eigene abgefederte Achse besitzen (Fig. 1). Dies ist der wesentlichste Punkt dieser Idee.In automobiles, twin wheels on the front axles were tried successfully in aquaplaning years ago. Der gleiche Effekt kann, wie in Fig. 8 gezeigt, auch durch eine starre mechanische Verbindung erreicht werden. Hier greift ein mittig liegendes Zahnrad (Z) in eine Zähnelung im inneren oberen Teleskoprohr ein, und zwar durch eine kleine zum Zahnrad gerichtete Öffnung im oberen äußeren Teleskoprohr. Im Prinzip erreichen beide Lösungen den gleichen Zweck, nämlich die in jeder Fahrlage stets gleichen Raddrücke jedes der beiden Zwillingsräder auf den Erdboden.The best solution would be if every single wheel exerted the same pressure on the ground in every driving position. Claims (2)

1. "Zwillingsräder" oder "Doppelräder" an Einspurfahrzeugen, z. B. an Motorradvorder- oder -hinterradgabeln, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß ein jeder Teleskoparm (Fig. 1) einer Radgabel eine Radachse mit einem Laufrad trägt und daß der untere innere Teleskoparm (T₂, Fig. 1 und 8) im äußeren Teleskoparm (T₁, Fig. 1 und 8) abgefedert wird, und d. h., daß jedes Zwillingsrad für sich allein abgefedert ist;
bei einer Ausführung mit Schwingarmen an Stelle der Teleskoprohre ergeben sich ähnliche und im Prinzip gleiche Bauarten.

  • a) die oberen Anschläge der Federn in den oberen Teleskoprohren sind nicht fixiert, wie in Fig. 1 gezeigt, sondern sie bestehen aus in diesen Rohren gleitenden Körpern (K), und die darüberliegenden Räume sind mit Flüssigkeit - z. B. Bremsöl - gefüllt und kommunizieren durch eine rohrförmige Verbindung miteinander, schraffiert in Fig. 7; das gewünschte Ergebnis ist, daß die Drücke beider Räder auf die Fahrbahn stets gleich groß sind, gleichgültig, welche Schräglage die Maschine einnimmt, denn in Flüssigkeiten pflanzen sich Drücke gleichmäßig fort;
  • b) um diese gleichmäßige Übertragung der Federdrücke in jeder Stellung des Fahrzeugs auf jedes Rad der Zwillingsräder zu erhalten - wie unter a gezeigt -, können auch mechanische Übertragungen benutzt werden, z. B. durch ein zentralliegendes Zahnrad (Z) und je einer innenliegenden Zähnelung der oberen inneren Teleskoprohre, in die das Zahnrad eingreifen kann (Fig. 8); hierzu ist eine kleine, nach innen liegende Öffnung im oberen äußeren Teleskoprohr nötig; das Ergebnis dieser Bauart entpricht dem des unter a beschriebenen.
