Im Verlauf der Straße 10 steht ein Verkehrszeichen 13, das im vorliegenden Beispiel anzeigt, daß in einem Abstand von 100 m von diesem Verkehrszeichen an, eine Geschwindigkeit von 80 km/h gilt. Auf diesem Verkehrszeichen 13 ist ein passiver Transponder 14 der oben erläuterten Art vorgesehen. Der im Kraftfahrzeug 11 ange ordnete aktive Transponder 12 sendet ein Abfragesignal aus, das im am Verkehrszeichen 13 vorgesehenen passiven Transponder der art codiert wird, daß in dieser Codierung die Information über den angegebenen Abstand von 100 m vom Verkehrszeichen und die ab da geltende Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung von 80 km/h steckt. Der Signalverlauf vom aktiven Transponder 12 zum passiven Tran sponder 14 und zurück ist in Fig. 1 schematisch durch gestri chelte Linien 15 angedeutet. Es entsteht dann in einem Anzeigefeld 22 ein dem Verkehrszeichen 13 nach Fig. 1 entsprechendes Bild. Passive Transponder des erfindungsgemäßen Identifikationssystems können beispielsweise auch so ausgebildet sein, daß sich ändern de Verkehrsbedingungen, beispielsweise bei Gefahr von Staus in Stoßzeiten verarbeitet und angezeigt werden können. Weiterhin ist es auch möglich, Ortserkennungen durchzuführen, wobei der Standort eines Fahrzeugs auf der Anzeige-Einrichtung 21 darge stellt werden kann. Es ist dabei möglich, beispielsweise Teile eines Stadtplans auf der Anzeige-Einrichtung visuell darzustel len und in dieser Darstellung eine Markierung anzuzeigen, die den Standort des Kraftfahrzeugs angibt. Ein derartiger Fall ist in Fig. 2 auf der Anzeige 21 schematisch durch ein Dreiecks symbol angedeutet.
