Abstract

The positional depth, size and shape of the objects, namely, ammunition and shrapnel and objects related to military exercises, are determined and indicated using detectors (10) and an evaluation unit (11) with an electronic processing and indicating circuit. The reflected signals are correlated with the radiated signals. The unit is provided with sensors (magnetic sensors and similar) for establishing and sounding of metallic objects. The sonic exciter (12) is actively pulsed or radiated continuously (FMCW) frequency modulated. USE/ADVANTAGE - Effective to more than 30 cm under ground. Carries out classification of detected body sec. to location. Ensures intended clearing of site of live fault-free for safe ordinary civilian use.

Description

The invention relates to a device for locating ammunition and other bodies or containers on training or operational sites according to the preamble of claim 1.

The state of the art has so far been used for the disposal of exercise sites etc. of live ammunition, which are called duds in the ground have penetrated, magnetic field probes in various designs shapes used. However, these probes have the problem that they locate metal properly, but do not distinguish and display whether it is ammunition or fragments. But through that become unnecessarily essential with considerable time and effort Steel fragments recovered more often than actual ammunition. In the Percentages up to 80% are given in this context.

The invention has for its object a device of the beginning to create the type mentioned, which is able to locate as well perform a classification of the detected body and thus one intended clearing of a site from actual ammunition to ensure free and reliable.

This object is achieved by the measures outlined in claim 1 solves. Refinements and developments are in the subclaims and in the description below is an embodiment game explained and sketched in the single figure of the drawing. This figure shows the sound or ultra in a schematic representation sound detection, which is detailed below.

For this purpose, the floor is excited by means of one or more sound or ultrasound exciters 12 which bear directly on the floor surface B. These sound exciters 12 are actively pulsed or emit frequency modulated continuously. It is also possible to use sound exciters that work in the broadband process.

The excitation of the soil can also be done by abrupt coupling and if necessary by targeted repetition at the same point or at several points can be optimized.

The sound exciter 12 is now assigned a sound detector 10 and an evaluation unit 11 with processor and display electronics, which carries out an evaluation of the reflected signals by correlation with the emitted signals, with the aid of a spatially resolved time measurement and an amplitude selection, the bearing depth, size and Determines and displays the shape of the measured object. In the present case, a spatially resolved transit time measurement is understood to be the determination of sound transit times from the exciter ( 12 ) to the detectors ( 10 ), the time information being linked to the location information. The local resolution of the transit time measurement can also be generated by scanning (mechanical movement of the detectors 10 and exciters 12 ).

Sound detectors are used to detect the reflected signals for example piezo elements - suggested their sensitivity and Frequency response is adjustable or adaptable. For the display of the Detected signals will be an oscilloscope or a screen or both Devices proposed with each other, with the processor and the An Show electronics of the evaluation unit are connected.

The above-described embodiment can be arranged geometrically refine the use of two or more probes.
