Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a wipe and cleaning cloth for Household and industry for picking up solid particles and / or liquids of all kinds, made from one Nonwoven web containing surfactant with by meltblowing thermoplastics, especially polyolefins, manufactured microfibers, the nonwoven web in pattern Partial surfaces is solidified.
Wipes made from nonwoven nonwovens are made of, for example DE-PS 28 45 551 or DE-GM 76 08 660 or DE-OS 34 11 515 known among other things. The basic Suitability of nonwovens made of thermoplastic fibers Hot stamping is partially solidified in a pattern, for example by means of embossing rollers for use as Wipes with and without wetting agents are already in the US-PS 38 49 241 or US-PS 39 78 185 or US-PS 38 11 957 in general form described. From this it is also known from Naturally made of hydrophobic thermoplastic fibers by adding To make wetting agents wettable. The Manufacturing processes for nonwoven nonwoven webs are also used for example in US Pat. Nos. 37 95 571 and 37 04 198 described.
A variety of the known wipes are for selected ones Applications for picking up selected dirt equipped, for example as dusters, as washcloths, as an oil wiper or as a steel cleaning cloth or the like. Usually, however, the dirt does not only appear in one form but mixed in all variants, namely as a mixture of Dust, grease, water, food waste, liquids of all kinds etc. on.
The invention has for its object a wiping and Household and industrial cleaning cloth for holding to create all kinds of dirt, if possible absorbs the dirt without lubrication and at the same time next to the Cleaning effect can also have a disinfectant effect.
Surprisingly, it was found that this object is achieved with a wiping and cleaning cloth made from a non-woven nonwoven in that the nonwoven web predominantly consists of LLDPE (linear low density polyethylene) fibers and up to about 45% by weight fibers made from a homopolymer of propylene and contains a cationic surfactant acting as a disinfectant in an amount of at least 1.0% by weight, based on the nonwoven web. The use of a mixture of fibers based on polyethylene and on the basis of polypropylene with a predominant proportion of polyethylene creates a very handy soft wipe that not only absorbs well on flat surfaces, but is also easy to insert into corners and holes. Abrasion resistance and tear resistance are achieved to a sufficient extent by selected polyolefins in accordance with the characterizing features of claims 2 to 4. In particular, the wiping and cleaning cloth according to the invention, when configured with higher grammages over 100 to 200 g / m 2 and more, does not prove to be as stiff as known wiping cloths which consist only of polypropylene fibers.
Surprisingly, it was found that by using cationic Surfactants not only improve the wettability of the Wiping and cleaning cloth is achieved, but also one disinfectant effect that the wiping and cleaning cloth remains in the long term, can be achieved. The cationic surfactant is preferred on the surface of the Fibers or nonwoven web applied, for example at Manufacturing process of the nonwoven web either immediately Spray on the fibers or by soaking the Nonwoven web. The cationic used for the invention Surfactants have positively charged hydrophilic groups, in particular Ammonium groups, but also cationic surfactants Phosphonium or protonated amine N-oxide groups can be used. Quaternaries have proven to be particularly advantageous Ammonium compounds with a long chain alkyl radical, the also have a disinfectant effect. It However, it is also possible to use quaternary ammonium salts with two long chain alkyl residues that have a higher wetting effect unfold, deploy. Are preferred as cationic Quaternary ammonium salts, the tenside properties have used. Such connections are also called Called invert soaps. These compounds are at the H atom usually three methyl groups or two methyl groups and one Benzyl residue and a longer-chain aliphatic residue bound. The positively charged N atom with the methyl residues forms the hydrophilic, the longer chain alkyl residue the hydrophobic part of the molecule. The H atom can also be part of a Ring or replaced by a positively charged phosphorus atom be. Mixtures with different lengths can also be used Alkyl chains can be provided. In the hydrophobic rest, too other structural elements, such as carboxylic acid ester groups, be installed. Such invert soaps also have Surfactant properties a broad antibacterial Spectrum of activity, which is particularly evident in wiping and Cleaning cloths proves to be advantageous, as these Household one after the other in different places are used and thus with the invention Wipe and cleaning cloth for the transmission of bacteria at least partially can be counteracted. Advantageous equipment of the inventive wipes with surfactants are the characteristic features of claims 5 to 9 can be removed.
Since polyolefin fibers are oleophilic by default, it depends a desired degree of water wettability Amount of surfactant, i.e. H. Provide wetting agents. Here it is also possible, the wiping and cleaning cloth according to the invention in the Way with an additional surfactant that the surfactant according to the characterizing features of claim 6 thermoplastic, especially the LLDPE, from which the fibers are produced, is added and that in later use of the nonwoven web by migration to the Surface of the fibers takes effect. With these as inner Wetting agents which act as surfactants can also be anionic or nonionic surfactants in addition to cationic surfactants be provided. For example, non-ionic ones come for this Surfactants based on fatty alcohol ethoxylates in question. It is also possible for this surfactants with additional antistatic To provide effect. Polyolefins with incorporated surfactants are described, for example, in US Pat. No. 4,578,414.
For some uses of the wiping and cleaning cloths it is desires that this be a particularly fluffy and voluminous Have shape. As a result of the manufacturing process of Nonwoven web in which the fibers pass through in partial areas Plasticizing and pressing together are solidified and This way the fleece is compact and durable Structure maintains, but at the same time becomes the fleecy character of the fleece reduced by calendering and embossing. To a Raising the thermoplastic fibers after hot stamping and consolidation of the nonwoven web, and thus a voluminous wipe with sufficient strength in the nonwoven web is an addition of Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose according to the characteristic Features of claim 10 provided. The fleece webs and so that the wipes are preferably colored, whereby they can not only be printed, but also plain colored, for example by adding appropriate ones Colorants in usual amounts to the thermoplastic Plastics are colored for the production of the fibers can.
For applications with higher temperature loads, e.g. B. Wiping hot items, it may be beneficial the nonwoven web for the wiping and cleaning cloth according to the invention proportionately higher with thermoplastic fibers Temperature resistance, for example based on the corresponding thermoplastic polyester or linear polyaryl oxide, -Sulfide, -Sulfone, to equip, these fibers being higher Proportional temperature resistance polypropylene fibers, if necessary LLDPE fibers, can replace, up to 30 wt .-%, based on the total amount of fibers in the nonwoven web. Hereby the wipe and tear resistance of the wipe is also increased.
An inexpensive and economically producible wiping and Cleaning cloth with sufficient wiping and cleaning properties for different types of dirt and disinfectant effect is characterized by a structure according to the characteristic Features of claim 13.
The non-woven web made of microfibers is solidified as described in the US patents cited at the beginning, for example US Pat. No. 37 04 198. In this case, preferably about 10 to 30% of the surface of the nonwoven is bonded by thermal bonding, these composite surfaces being provided on many small individual surfaces of different sizes approximately evenly distributed over the nonwoven surface. An example of such a pattern binding can be seen in the attached FIG. 1 in view of a wiping and cleaning cloth 1 , the binding surfaces being designated 2 , illustration on a scale of 1: 1.
B. in Kraftfahrzeugwerkstätten. The invention is explained below using an exemplary embodiment. Wipes were made from a nonwoven web of meltblown microfibers with an average diameter of up to about 12 pm by meltblowing, for example according to the process described in US Pat. No. 3,978,185, containing 60% by weight of LLDPE fibers and 40% by weight. -% fibers from a homopolymer of polypropylene. The thermoplastic polymers are extruded into filaments in separate extruders in air streams, then the filaments are drawn into fine fibers and comminuted by blowing, the fibers made of polypropylene being added to the air stream of the fibers made of polyethylene, and when they meet, the turbulence generated by air streams ensures uniform mixing the fibers are made of LLDPE and polypropylene and this mixture is placed on a base to form a loose, non-woven fiber fleece and subsequently joined and embossed as it passes through calender rolls using pressure and heat. For the polyethylene fibers, an LLDPE with a density of 0.945 g / cm 3 and an MFI (190 / 2.16) of 25 g / 10 min was used, which is available, for example, as a commercial product from the Dow Chemical Company. The polypropylene resin was an ultra-high-melt homopolymer of polypropylene with a melt flow rate, measured according to ASTM method D 1238 Condition L, of 400 dg / min, which corresponds to an MFI (230 / 2.16) of 400 g / 10 min, and a density of 0.9 g / cm 3 used. A fleece with a basis weight of 75 g / m 2 was produced from the thermoplastic fibers, the random fiber fleece from the loosely collected thermoplastic fibers being sprayed with cationic surfactant "Zephirol (R)" from Bayer AG before hot stamping, so that the fleece web contains about 2% by weight, based on the weight of the nonwoven web, of surfactant on the surface. The surfactant was applied from an aqueous 2% solution. The nonwoven web is then hot stamped. It is also possible to subsequently spray an embossed nonwoven web with surfactant or to apply the surfactant from aqueous solutions, for example in an immersion bath or by application rollers. The solvent is then evaporated off. The cationic surfactant "Zephirol (R)" is a quaternary ammonium compound based on alkylbenzyldimethylammonium chloride. The wipes and cleaning cloths, which are made up from the nonwoven web in the usual sizes, wipe tables, floors, surfaces that are dirty and also contain greases, depending on the application in the household, cleanly and are also wettable with water and hold liquids. Residue removal also has a slight disinfectant effect, which increases hygiene, particularly in the household. They are also useful in industrial and artisan operations for tools and in many applications, e.g. B. in automotive workshops.
