The invention relates to an artificial knee joint to support the natural one
Knee joint with two axes of rotation that have an intermediate piece hinged to both rails
enforce, and consists in that the intermediate piece between the inwardly
Flat sides of the superimposed finding of the two rails is mounted,
of which the latter the lower rail through the upper of the two pivot pins and
the upper rail is hinged to the intermediate piece by the lower pivot pin.
In the drawing, the subject of the invention is shown in my exemplary embodiment,
namely Fig. i, a and 3 show the artificial joint seen from the pure side at
three different positions of the rails, corresponding to the different positions
from the upper and lower leg to each other, Fig. 4 the joint in section, and Fig. 5,
6 details of the same.
Winkel begrenzt.
In dash-dotted lines, i denotes the lower part of the thigh bone and 2 denotes the upper part of the lower leg bone. ,; is the upper rail, which is fastened parallel to the thigh, and 4. the lower rail, which is fastened parallel to the lower leg, e.g. B. by bandages. Between the superimposed ends of the two rails 3 and 4 there is an intermediate piece 5. This has two axle projections 6 and 7. The lower rail 4 engages around the axle extension 6 with a hole, the falling of which from the axle extension 6 is also prevented by a screw. The intermediate piece 5 is thus connected to the two rails 3 and 4 in a freely swinging manner. These parts represent the artificial knee joint. The lower rail 4 is thus connected to the intermediate piece 5 by an upper pivot pin 6 and the upper rail 3 by a lower pivot pin 7. The possibility of rotation of the upper rail 3 on the lower pin 7 is limited by lateral stops ii and iz in the angle. The stops ii sit on the rail 3 and in their end positions abut against stops 13 and 14, which are provided on the intermediate piece 5. There is some clamping between the upper rail 3 and the intermediate piece 5, so that when the rails 3 and 4 rotate, the pivot 6 is more easily rotated than the pivot 7. There is also a stop 1 5 on the lower rail 4, which can limit the rotation of the upper rail 3. The rotatability of the intermediate piece 5 on the lower rail 4 is limited by stops 16, 17 on the lower leg 4 and stops 18 and 9 on the intermediate piece.
Assume that the knee joint is in the extended position
according to Fig. i, and the knee is pushed through in the direction of the arrow, then the stops are in place
16 and 19 against each other and also the stops i i and 14, whereby a blocking
of the joint is achieved in the direction of the arrow.
If now an angular adjustment of the lower and upper thighs and
therefore also takes place from bottom rail 4 and top rail 3 to each other, so rotate,
the clamping between the upper rail 3 and intermediate piece 5, first of all the lower
and the thigh in the axis 6 to each other in the position according to Fig. z, until the
Intermediate piece 5 abuts against stop 15. With further efforts to turn in
the position according to Fig.3 must now be the clamping between the top rail; and the intermediate piece
5 are overcome, and since the intermediate piece extends to the lower rail around the
Axle journal 6 can no longer rotate due to the stop at 15, so now rotate
with further rotation with a relative standstill of the intermediate piece 5, the upper rail
3 and the lower rail 4 around the other axis, namely around the journal 7 to each other.
But it can also be, if z. B. clamps or blocks occur in the movements of the artificial joint, which should be the same as those of the artificial, as a result of an insignificant resistance, the upper rail 3 rotate around the journal 7 when the intermediate piece has not yet reached the stop 1 5 asked, and this to The ability to rotate at any time makes the artificial joint more flexible than if the second axis of rotation were forced through a curve.
