Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to reaction products of trifatty acid glycerides, hereinafter referred to as "triglycerides", with polyamines, a ver drive to their manufacture and their use as defoamers at Manufacture of paper, varnishes, dispersions and food.
Reaction products of triglycerides with polyamines are from the German Patent application DE-A-19 22 046 known. Implementation products from Triglycerides with a hydroxyalkyl polyamine as anionic surfactant-compatible Fabric softening components of washing and washing aids wrote. The hydroxyalkyl polyamines, which according to the teaching of DE-A-19 22 046 reacted with triglycerides contain at least a hydroxyethyl, hydroxypropyl or dihydroxypropyl group. This It is not apparent from the prior art that reaction products of Tri glycerides in a certain ratio with polyamines that do not contain Hy contain droxyethyl, hydroxypropyl or dihydroxypropyl groups as Defoamers are effective and, if desired, additional ones Contain ingredients such as hydrophobic silica and silicones.
The present invention therefore relates to reaction products of Triglycerides with polyamines, which are characterized in that they by reacting triglycerides with polyamines in a molar ratio of 1: 1 to 3: 1 (fatty acid residue of the triglyceride: amino group of the poly amins) are available and additional stock if desired parts such as hydrophobic silica and silicones.
The fatty acid residues are derived from fatty acids with 8 to 24 carbon atoms and can be saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsub be constituted and branched or unbranched. For example, you can from the Capryl, Pelargon, Caprin, Undecan, Laurin, Myristin, Palmi tin, stearic, oleic, arachic or behenic acid. Also triglyceride mixtures of natural origin, d. H. Fats from plants, agricultural or Marine animals, for example coconut oil, palm, olive, linseed, tree woolen, soybean, peanut, turnip oil, lard, tallow, castor oil and the wholly or partly hardened products of these fats as well as hardened Fish or whale oils can be used. The ones on are also suitable synthetic triglycerides of fatty acids that can be obtained via can receive the oxosynthesis or the Guerbet reaction. Implementation products of triglycerides, whose fatty acid residues differ from hydroxyl-substituted ones Fatty acids, especially those derived from ricinoleic acid, are particularly imminent moves.
Das Molverhältnis errechnet sich nach folgender Beziehung:Suitable polyamines contain at least two primary amino groups as well optionally additionally at least one secondary and / or tertiary Amino group. Examples of particularly suitable polyamines contain two primary amino groups such as ethylenediamine, which is preferred. But triamines, tetramines and pentamines are also suitable. Suitable Diamines contain 2 to 10, preferably 2 to 6 carbon atoms and who converted to bisamides in the reaction mixture together with monoami the, glycerides and glycerin are present. Of the also suitable tri, Tetra- and pentamines are the condensed diamines, i.e. H. Diethylene tria min, triethylene tetramine and tetraethylene pentamine preferred. Important at the implementation is the ratio of polyamine to triglyceride. It judges depends on the number of amino groups (NA) in the polyamine. The molar ratio is calculated according to the following relationship:
MolPolyamin : MolTriglycerid = ³NA : 1 bis ¹NA : 1Moles of polyamine : moles of triglyceride = 3 N A : 1 to 1 N A : 1
wobei Produkte mit einem Molverhältnis vonwhere products with a molar ratio of
ca. ²NA : 1approx. ²N A : 1
bevorzugt werden.to be favoured.
For the preferred ethylenediamine, this means that per fatty acid residue Triglycerides 1 to 1/3 amino groups are present in the reaction mixture.
In a preferred embodiment, the reaction products contain hy drophobic silica. The silica can be with the reaction products mix subsequently. However, it is particularly advantageous if the Silicic acid is already present in the reaction mixture during the reaction. The defoamer effect of the reaction products can be in many cases increase even more if the products also contain foam-suppressing silicones such as for example contain polydimethylsiloxanes.
Another object of the present invention is a method for Production of the reaction products mentioned.
The condensation products according to the invention are produced by the optionally melted triglycerides with the poly amine and optionally with the silica and optionally the Silicon optionally mixed under an inert gas atmosphere, the temperature of the reaction mixture increases until water separates, the reaction continue with water removal until the amine number is below 4 and then the reaction stops by cooling. It can be useful be carried out at two different temperatures, for example, first at 100 to 120 ° C and then at 180 to 200 ° C. The process product is at room temperature as white to light colored waxy substance, for example in the form of pellets or Dandruff can be converted into free-flowing bulk material.
Another object of the present invention is the use of Condensation products as defoamers. By selecting the starting material alien (triglycerides and polyamines) and, if necessary, by the addition on hydrophobic silica and foam-suppressing silicones reaction products according to the invention in a variety of processes use individually tailored properties. Is claimed hence the use of the reaction products in the manufacture of Pulp, paper, lacquers, dispersions, plastics, rubber, at Fer mentation and coagulation processes as well as wastewater treatment.
