Dieser dient, als Hilfsriiegel und ist sowohl gegenüber dem Schnapper A durch den an diesem befestigten'Stift b und die Nut e als auch gegenüber dem Schloßkasten durch Nut g und Stift a, der am 'Schloßblech befestigt ist, geführt. Der Vierkantstift / gibt die Bewegung von B nach Einstellung von Zuhaltungen in an sich bekannter Weise frei. Soll das Schloß geöffnet werden, so kann dies nur mittels eines den Hilfsriegel B nach rechts bewegenden Schlüssels geschehen, wobei die Falle A durch den am linken Ende der Nut e liegenden Stift b mit nach rechts zurückgezogen wird. Beim Rückdrehen des Schlüssels kehrt der Schinapper Ά in, seine ,Anfangslage zurück, und bei einer zweiten Umdrehung des Schlüssels kann er einfach dadurch festgelegt werden, daß der Stift b sich alsdann gegen das rechte Ende der Nut e legt. Damit ist dem Schnappschloß die Wirkung und Sicherheit eines gewöhnlichen Riegel- oder Zuhaltungsschlosses verliehen.
