Abstract

The diversity device (2) for a VHF car radio (1) drives several car aerials (3) connected in different positions on the same vehicle, to process all the antenna signals simultaneously. A preamplification and a mixing stage (18) are connected to each antenna (3). The output signals of the mixing stage (18) are vectorially added in a summation stage via controllable phase rotating members. The second signal input to the mixing stage (18) is derived from an auxiliary oscillator (9). The oscillator (9) is synchronised through the interference outputs of the radio mixer oscillator (6) at the output of the radio (1), via an automatic search function (13). The output of the summation stage (19) is fed back via the auxiliary oscillator (9) to a feed back mixer (15). USE/ADVANTAGE - Enables readily available car radios to be modified to operate to process signals simultaneously from several antennas.

Description

The property right relates to a new diversity attachment for an FM car radio in the DE 35 10 580 A1 described type. These car radios are for operation on several, on the same vehicles on different Attached car antennas designed and for the simultaneous evaluation of all antenna signals determined. Corresponding the details in DE 35 10 580 A1 are each antenna a pre-circuit and a mixing stage downstream. The output signals the mixing stage are controlled via phase rotators superimposed in a vectorial adder.

The invention is based, too existing car radios for such a mode of operation retrofit.

The invention solves this problem with that characterized in claim 1 Means.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing explained in more detail.

The already existing, standard car radio 1 operates at an intermediate frequency of 10.7 MHz. This car radio is connected to the antennas 3 via a switch box 2 .

At the antenna input 4 of the car radio, the input stage 5 of the car radio is offered the usual input signal, the FM-modulated carrier wave of the transmitter to be received. At the same time, however, interference radiation from the mixing oscillator 6 in the input stage of the car radio can also be removed. This interference radiation is fed via a tunable bandpass filter 7 to the auxiliary mixer 8 , the second input signal of which comes from a tunable auxiliary oscillator 9 .

The output signal of the auxiliary intermediate frequency generated in the auxiliary mixer stage 8 is passed via a bandpass 10 , then amplified in the amplifier 11 and input via a discriminator 12 into an automatic search function 13 as a control signal. The tuning voltage generated by the automatic search function 13 controls the tunable bandpass filter 7 in the input of the upstream box 2 , the tunable auxiliary oscillator 9 and finally a module 14 in which the antenna signals, as mentioned at the beginning, are superimposed. The output signal of the module 14 is passed via a back mixer 15 , to which the signal of the auxiliary oscillator 9 is fed as a second signal, and an output bandpass 16, which can be tuned with the tuning voltage, to the antenna socket 4 of the car radio.

The module 14 comprises a tunable input filter 17 for each antenna 3 , the tuning input of which is connected to the output of the automatic search function 13 . A mixing stage 18 is connected downstream of each of the input filters 17 , and the output signal of the auxiliary oscillator 9 is supplied as a second signal. In the circuit block 19 not described in detail, the output signals of the mixer stages 18 are shifted in phase and superimposed. The output signal of the circuit block 19 is then further processed in the back mixer 15 , as already described.

If the IF stage of the car radio 1 operates at an intermediate frequency f IF of 10.7 MHz and the mixing oscillator is to oscillate above the reception frequency f E , then the oscillator frequency f O applies

fO=fE+fZF .f O = f E + f ZF .

Durch Mischung mit der Frequenz des HilfsoszillatorsThe oscillator frequency f O , which can be removed as interference radiation at the antenna input, is sieved in the input bandpass 7 of the upstream box 2 . By mixing with the frequency of the auxiliary oscillator

fHO=fE+fZF,f HO = f E + f ZF ,

entsteht eine neue Hilfszwischenfrequenza new auxiliary intermediate frequency is created

fHZF=2fZF .f HZF = 2f ZF .

The frequency of the auxiliary oscillator f HO is determined by the automatic search function 13 , which comes to a standstill when the discriminator 12 set to the auxiliary intermediate frequency f HZF detects a zero crossing of the auxiliary IF. Then f HO = f O , ie the frequencies of the oscillator 6 and the auxiliary oscillator 9 match.

The structure of the bandpass filters 17, 16 at the base of the antenna 3 and in front of the antenna input 4 of the car radio 1 are constructed in such a way that the reception frequency f E is practically not attenuated at the tuning voltage. With the oscillator frequency f HO , the carrier frequency of the transmitter f E is mixed down in the mixer 18 to an intermediate frequency f IF-ADA . In the circuit block 19, the downconverted antenna signals, as described in the aforementioned DE 35 10 580 A1 are superimposed, and then in the rear mixer 15 to the carrier frequency f e of the transmitter back mixed.

After passing the bandpass 16 , the carrier frequency of the transmitter is then available with regenerated modulation at the antenna input of the existing car radio.
