Abstract

Moulded concrete block for paving of streets and squares has a mix compsn. of c. 10 wt.% sand with a grain size of 0 - 2 mm, c. 15 wt.% cement, c. 5 wt.% water and additives such as stone chippings, pebbles etc., with a portion of 5-8 mm and two portions of 2-5 mm grain size. The block is open-paved and permeable to water, which passes through to the ground underneath. ADVANTAGE - Reduced amount of water to be drained, reduced effect on local climate.

Description

The invention relates to a concrete block for the Paving streets and squares.

For the paving of streets and squares, the Ver Use of concrete blocks wide and increasing spread won.

In climatological terms, however, it is getting stronger perceived as a disadvantage that an increasing sealing the natural surface of the soil through paving leads to a heating up of the city climate, because paving stones the heat exchange between soil and atmosphere during the day and negatively influence night in such a way that at Days a higher heating of the floor area occurs that degrades even more slowly at night than with natural soils common.

The invention has for its object this disadvantage mitigate the climatological effect of concrete blocks or eliminate.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that a shaped concrete block is produced that is marked  due to a mixture of approx. 10 wt zenten sand with a grain size of 0 to 2 mm, approx. 15 percent by weight cement, approx. 5 percent by weight water and aggregates (Grit, blue basalt, gravel, etc.) with a share of 5 to 8 mm and two parts of 2 to 5 mm grain size.

A concrete block with such a mixture composition represents an open-pore, water-permeable component, that doesn’t hinder the passage of water to the extent that it does with a natural stone paving or paving conventional concrete blocks is the case.

The water made possible in the concrete block according to the invention passage from top to bottom leads to a partial and increased uptake of rainwater in the soil below the Paving and thus reduces the amount of drain water. The possibility of water passage from the bottom up leads to a cooling effect, because such a porous one permeable concrete block a permanent water passage occurs from the bottom up and allows evaporation of the made possible by stepped water. Since water has a high ver heat of vaporization is required due to the concrete blocks a large amount of heat was removed from this permanent evaporation, the entire paving is therefore constantly cooled.

The concrete block described thus has, so to speak a built-in cooling device and results in very cost an easier way to improve the urban climate.
