Abstract

Pref. the granular material is of mineral origin and is obtd. at sintering temps.. The binder film may be e.g. of polymer cement and/or polymer plaster. USE/ADVANTAGE - The insulating concrete may be mixed and applied on site or made and formed into building elements which are e.g. coated on one or both sides or formed into multilayer composite sandwich panels. The amt. of air incorporated into the material can be varied by suitable choice of the particle size of the granular material and the viscosity of the binder. The prods. are useful in building applications to reduce noise transmission and to avoid cold bridging.
