Elektrischer Widerstand. Elektrische Widerstände mit Emaillerohrwiderstandsträger und Wicklung mit hitzebeständiger Isolation haben bei Überlastung den Nachteil, leicht durchzuschlagen, da Emaille im erhitzten Zustande bekanntlich leitend wird. Derartige Widerstände halten in kaltem Zustande eine Spannung von üb,-r 2 ooo Volt, bei 400' aber nur eine solche von etwa Zoo Volt aus. Durch vorliegende Neuerung wird dieser bei höheren Temperaturen auftretende Übelstand beseitigt. Überzieht man z. B. einen feueremaillierten Widerstandsträger mit einer etwa i/.2 mm dicken Marmorasbestschicht, so verträgt der Widerstand in erhitztem Zustande eine etwa zehnmal höhere Spannung als vorher. Das ist aber ein Fortschritt, der für den Mriderstandsbau wesentlich ist. Die Marmorasbestschicht ist völlig fest, bei Erhitzung jedoch elastisch, sie dient daher gleichzeitig als Polster zwischen Widerstandsträger, Draht und Bandwicklung. Marmorasbest läßt sich ohne Schwierigkeit bearbeiten, also auch darin Gewinde schneiden; die Steigung kann hierbei unter z mm betragen. Derart feine Gewinde lassen sich bekanntlich auf Feueremaille und Porzellan direkt nicht anbringen. Für die bearbeitungsfähige Isolierschicht ist außer anderen vorteilhaft Marmorasbest zu verwenden; er besteht aus i/3 Asbestfasern in 2/3 Marmorzement, eine gleichwertige Isolierschicht läßt sich auch aus Marmorstaub-Asbestfaser mit einem anorganischen Bindemittel angemengt herstellen.Electrical resistance.
