Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for detecting a Path or an angle of rotation according to the genus of the main claim. A movable measuring element is relative to two axially aligned to the measurement element arranged measuring coils moves. By moving the Measuring element is the coverage ratio between the one coil and the measuring element while enlarged by the same amount between the other coil and the measuring element is reduced. These Device has a relatively large overall length, although only one relatively short measuring path can be detected.
The device according to the invention with the characteristic features the main claim has the advantage that it is very compact and has a relatively small axial length. Especially if the core of ferromagnetic material in the cylindrical coil is inserted, a high Measurement signal can be achieved with the ferromagnetic effect. Through the opposite change of the coil inductances during the measurement process, the measuring effects of the coils are added while Measuring errors of the individual coils often occur against each other largely compensate. The measurement signal has a low temperature drifts on.
By the measures listed in the subclaims advantageous developments and improvements in the main claim specified features possible.
Embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing and explained in more detail in the following description. There, Figs. 1 to 3 each show a longitudinal section through a modification of a measuring device.
In Fig. 1, 10 denotes a measuring device which has a holder 11 with a cylindrical core 12 made of ferromagnetic material and a sleeve 13 made of non-ferromagnetic but electrically conductive material. The axes of the core 12 and the sleeve 13 run parallel to one another. A second sleeve 16 serving as a coil former and a cylindrical second core 17 serving as a coil former are fastened to a second holder 15 . The sleeve 16 and the core 17 are preferably made of non-electrically conductive material. The axes of the core 17 and the sleeve 13 as well as the core 12 and the sleeve 16 are each designed with the same axis, so that the core 12 can dip into the sleeve 16 and the core 17 into the sleeve 13 , respectively. On the core 17 or on the outer wall of the sleeve 16 , a coil 19 , 20 through which an alternating current flows is arranged. On the holder 11 , only hinted at in FIG. 1, a measurement object 21 is attached, the movement of which is to be determined. The holder 15 is then arranged in a stationary manner. But it is also possible to mount the measurement object in reverse, that is, the measurement object is arranged on the holder 15 and the holder 11 is stationary. Furthermore, a measurement object can also be attached to each holder 11 or 15 , so that the two holders 11 , 15 move relative to one another and the difference between the two movements is determined.
Are the coils z. B. in a Wheatstone bridge according to FIG. 4a or 4b or in a voltage divider (not shown), and when an alternating current flows through the coil 20 , the alternating magnetic field of the coil 20 detects the inner surface of the sleeve 13 . In the case of non-ferromagnetic but electrically conductive material, only the eddy current effect is effective. Due to the eddy currents forming on the surface of the inner wall of the sleeve 13 there is a reduction in the inductance of the coil 20 , so that the level of the applied measuring voltage decreases. The further the core 17 with the coil 20 penetrates into the sleeve 13 , the stronger the eddy current formation. Considering the coil 19, so detects the magnetic field of the diagram change traversed by an alternating current Spu le 19, the surface of the core made of ferromagnetic material 12th With a ferromagnetic effect, the resulting increase in inductivity of the coil 19 is described as the depth of penetration of the core 12 into the coil 19 is due to the ferromagnetic nature of the core material. With ferromagnetic material, both the ferromagnetic effect and the eddy current effect are effective. While, as stated above, the eddy current effect causes a decrease in the inductance of the coil, the ferromagnetic effect causes an increase in the inductance of the coil. Therefore, the parameters (z. B. material properties of the core 12 , the level of the frequency of the alternating current that flows through the coil 19 ) must be adjusted so that the ferromagnetic effect predominates. The change in the inductance of the coil 19 is thus in turn a measure of the relative movement of the core 12 with respect to the coil 19 . When measuring, the core 12 and the sleeve 13 simultaneously exercise the same movement, so that the inductance of the two coils 19 , 20 changes in opposition, that is, the inductance of the coil 20 is reduced, while the inductance of the coil 19 is increased. Both coils 19 , 20 can be interconnected in the so-called "half-bridge circuit" shown in FIG. 4a in such a way that many measurement errors are compensated for in whole or in part, while the measurement effect is added. Furthermore, a high signal yield is obtained with the ferromagnetic effect when the core 12 is immersed in the coil 19 . It has been shown that the ferromagnetic effect does not achieve such a high measurement signal if the coil 19 were immersed in a sleeve made of ferromagnetic material. There are two variants of the eddy current effect. Both the core can be immersed in a coil and the coil can be immersed in a sleeve.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2, the coil 20 a is arranged on a core 25 fastened approximately centrally to the holder 11 a. The core 25 is surrounded by a sleeve 26 on which the coil 19 a is located. Between the sleeve 26 and the core 25 , a ring 27 is arranged in the holder 11 a. Between the sleeve 26 and the core 25 , a sleeve 28 attached to the holder 15 a is movable. The sleeve 28 has an outer part 29 made of ferromagnetic material and an inner part 30 made of non-ferromagnetic but electrically conductive material. The sleeve 28 , the sleeve 26 and the core 25 are of the same axis. The mode of operation of the training example according to FIG. 2 corresponds to that according to FIG. 1. However, the smaller size in the radial direction and the central arrangement of the components are particularly advantageous.
In the exemplary embodiment of the measuring device 11 c according to FIG. 3, the bobbins for the coils 19 b and 20 b are designed as sleeves 35 , 36 fastened in the carrier 15 b. Both sleeves 35 , 36 are axially identical, the sleeve 35 encompassing the sleeve 36 . The distance between the two sleeves 35 , 36 is to be made so large that the magnetic fields of the coils influence each other slightly in relation to the measurement effect. A core 37 made of ferromagnetic material projects into the sleeve 36 . Furthermore, a sleeve 38 made of non-ferromagnetic but electrically conductive material extends over the sleeve 35 . The sleeve 38 and the core 37 are fixed in the holder 11 b with the help of the ring 27 b and are arranged axially with the sleeves 35 , 36 . In principle, it would also be possible with this education to manufacture the core 37 from non-ferromagnetic, but electrically conductive material and the sleeve 38 from ferromagnetic material. With this design, however, the measurement object made of ferromagnetic material would not be immersed in the coil.
In all of the exemplary embodiments, it is possible to apply a layer of the appropriate material to the sleeves or to the cores instead of the sleeves 13 , 28 , 38 or the cores 12 , 37 . Especially in the embodiment of FIG. 2, this method can lead to a further reduction in the size in the radial direction. If, as stated above, the coil 20 a has an alternating current flowing through it at a sufficiently high frequency, a layer of non-ferromagnetic but electrically conductive material can be applied to the inner part 30 of the sleeve 28 . Here, the different application techniques such. B. gluing, electroplating, evaporation, etc. are used.
The evaluation of the change in inductance can be anticipated in various ways. Some examples are listed below: The evaluation of the change in inductance of the two coils 19 and 20 can be carried out in the "half-bridge circuit 39 " shown in FIG. 4a. The two coils 19 , 20 are connected in a Wheatstone "half-bridge circuit", that is, in a bridge with two "active" bridge branches 19 , 20 and the passive bridges branches 40 , 41 . However, it is also possible to use a Wheatstone "full bridge" instead of a half bridge, as shown in FIG. 4b, for evaluation. The two additional sensor coils required for this should preferably be constructed identically to the two coils of the Wheatstone half-bridge shown in FIG. 4a. The coils 19 d and 20 d are then z. B. additionally arranged axially parallel. Of course, with the help of the Wheatstone bridge circuit, instead of directly evaluating the coil inductance values, the evaluation of the change in the respective coil AC resistances can also be anticipated, since these depend on the size of the respective coil inductances. As a further evaluation variant, a capacitor can be attached in parallel to each sensor coil. In this case, the "active bridge branches" consist of parallel resonant circuits, the resistance of which also depends on the respective coil AC resistances.
A further evaluation device 42 for determining the change in inductance of the coils 19 , 20 is shown in FIG. 5. The two coils 19 , 20 are connected in series with one or two capacitors 43 in a resonant circuit. Here, the change in inductivity of the coils 19 , 20 is evaluated by measuring the natural oscillation period of the LC resonant circuit (L = inductivity of the coil, C = capacitance of the capacitor). In FIG. 5, the switch 44 can thereby the coils 19 and 20 are connected into the resonant circuit by means alternately. The change in the oscillation period of the respective resonant circuit depends on the change in the respective coil inductance. The different natural oscillation period of the oscillating circuits then serves as the measuring effect.
Depending on the design, both linear and radial movements are possible be determined.
