Abstract
Description
It is known to have spent nuclear fuel from nuclear reactors sealed gas-tight in steel cans and then in special dry storage facilities for longer periods To include dissipation of the decay heat. The inclusion of the spent fuel in these steel cans when expediently in the water-filled fuel element pool Nuclear power plant itself.
Because the transportation of spent fuel is heavy transportation containers that are absolutely safe against fire and fall hazards must be, the task arises, the transportation simplify ways and thus with simpler transport containers get along and the entrance station in known Simplify dry storage facilities and remote control do.
This object was achieved in that the fuel assembly and thus the input station is arranged in the immediate vicinity of the nuclear power plant, with this through a curved and partially underground transport track 4 for the, containing a bushed fuel and on a transport 6 attached transport container is connected and egg ner tilting device 13 in a preparation room 5 and a transfer cell 8 for the removal of the fuel elements from the vertically placed transport container 7 and forwarding the same to a loading turret 12 , the latter being accessible from the loading machine 11 of the storage facility 11 . Due to the adjacent arrangement of the dry storage facility to the respective nuclear power plant, the transport containers for the fuel elements can be decisively simplified and cheaper. Additional measures to achieve fall, fire and aircraft safety can be omitted, and the shielding measures are also greatly facilitated.
There is a for the end cover of this transport container Quick release possible, the remote controlled discharge in the Entrance station of the dry storage much simplified.
This entrance station is structurally connected to the dry storage facility den and is about this due to its structural structure and egg ne earth fill against external influences, e.g. Aircraft departure fall, secured. See the next for more details functional description.
Figs. 1 and 2 show the schematic construction of a gene derarti device in a vertical and a horizontal section. A transport path 4 , which runs practically horizontally and is partially tunnel-like, leads in an arc - for radiation reasons - to the actual entrance station. The spent fuel elements are located in a special transport container 7 , which is mounted on a transport carriage 6 and can be safely guided to the preparation room 5 by rails. The trolley 6 is provided with a tilting device, with the help of which the transport container 7 can be lowered down into a shaft so that it occupies a vertical position with the lid up. As soon as this is reached, the transport carriage 6 is moved on in the horizontal direction until the cover of the transport container 7 comes to rest under an opening of the so-called transfer cell 8 . From this transfer cell 8 , the lid of the trans port container 7 is released and this is connected to the same. The operation of these processes as well as the removal of the lid of the transport container 7 and the removal of the fuel element 7 , not shown, used in the transport container 7 is carried out from a control room 10 , from which direct or indirect visual observation, for example through lead glass windows or television cameras is possible. This also applies to the continuation of the removed rifles in a loading turret 12 , which is also arranged in the transfer cell 8 and can be reached from the loading machine 11 of the storage room 1 via a connecting opening in the partition 2 . This opening 2 for the passage of the loading machine can be locked in a radiation-proof manner by a sliding concrete bar 3 if no fuel element liners have to be moved.
This device is of course also for the Abtrans port of fuel assemblies from the storage room 1 can be used, the steps mentioned proceed in the opposite direction and the transport container 7 is pushed in the empty state under the transfer cell 8 .
For the sake of completeness, it should also be noted that, in addition to the control room 10 , rooms 9 with devices for ventilation and energy supply are also arranged.
In principle, a horizontal transport of the transport container 7 in the transfer cell 8 would be possible. However, this would then have to be significantly larger and the removal or transfer device would be much more extensive and accordingly also more difficult to operate.
