Description
Photographisches Reproduktionsverfahren. Photographic reproduction process. It is known to produce photographic reproductions in such a way that asphalt or light-sensitive albumin, glue, starch, gum arabic or the like layers behind a negative are exposed and then treated with water or organic solvents The patent 346339 protects the use of an ammoniacal shellac solution to which a soluble chromate has been added to produce the photosensitive layer. In the case of such a layer, the resin is no longer present as such, but rather. it is changed as a result of the connection with ammonia. The use of ammonia makes the new development with alkalis, which is, among other things, very valuable because of its cheapness, practically impossible.
It has now been found that even in Alkafien or alkaline substances soluble resins previously (H Usni k, the overall samtgebiet of light pressure, 4th ed., Vienna 1894, p 17) only for fixing the protein layer in conjunction with those used on the sub-surface can be used for this purpose. It has in fact makes the surprising observation overall that-sensitized resins after sufficient exposure lose their solubility in weak Alkaltien or alkaline substances, so (let in the development of these alkaline substances only unhelichteten bodies are released. For the new process can Both natural resins, for example shellac, dragon bilut, sandarac, mastix, copal, etc., and so-called synthetic resins (for example phenolforaldehyde condensation products) and mixtures of natural resins and synthetic resins with one another and with one another can be used. Sensitizers are particularly suitable Bichromates or trichromic acid alkalis, optionally with the addition of reducing acids and salts, e.g. formic acid, hyposulfuric, hypophosphorous and phosphorous acid salts, but mercury chromate, mercury chloride, copper bromide, cobalt nitrate, manganese dioxide and other compounds are also susceptible to sulfur can be used. For the development of the exposed layers, about 11 to 5 percent solutions of caustic potash, caustic soda, ammonia, calcium hydroxide, barium hydroxide, cyanide, sodium silicate, hydrazine, aniline, hydroxylamine, phenylhydrazine and the like come into consideration. They can also be used in mixtures.

The respective days Quantum are employed per se, in such a way that, in a bottle from ioo to 2.50 C1113 content 2 to i - og powdered Ammoniumbichrornat with the necessary amount of resin solution Z - i to schüttch -3 minutes. - \ Ian lets settle and filtered through a cotton ball.
To make a copy on zinc for the purpose of high etching, proceed * as follows. The well-sanded zinc plate is roughened in foligendeni bath. i ooo cm: 'water, io cm' nitric acid, ioo - alum, and rinsed well with water, dried over your fire and slightly warmed. The resin solution is poured on and, while warming, distributed -evenly- on the plate. You copy under a line or halftone negative. The copying time is the same as with the chrome glue process, in direct sunlight about 3 to 5 minutes ". Develop in a 1.5 percent caustic potash solution until the areas not hit by the light have loosened. Then wash it onto the plate dry well with water, dry with a deerskin and warm up slightly. The copy obtained in this way can be etched immediately in fairly high-percentage acid.
B e i s p i e 1 2. Man I #) st to i ooo cm' Al alcohol to 5o g i5o a good merchandise shellac, which, -en substances is advantageously free of wachsarti. This solution is allowed to stand for several days until the solution is clear and filtered through paper, add 3 to 10 -, - Schweinfurtergrün. Otherwise proceed as in example i. The copying time is significantly shorter than in example i, it is about half that. Develop in a 2 to 4 percent caustic potash solution. The plate is left in the bath for so long. until the picture comes out easily and then removes the areas not affected by the light with a cotton ball, rinses the plate well and warms up slightly.
It has also been found that the development also occurs with alcohol instead of with alkalis or substances with an alkaline reaction. such as B. acetone, benzene or other organic solvents, or mixtures of these among themselves, or with alkalis or alkaline-reacting substances can be carried out if the exposure is long enough.
B e i s p i e 1 3. It is used the discussed under i resin solution. "You copy, however, 3 to 4 times as long as it develops as follows - i part glycerine , i part alcohol are mixed together and the required Otiantum developer is reamed onto the plate and developed with a cotton ball or a plush brush until it develops the areas not hit by the light have been released. 'The plate is then rinsed well and dried.
It was also found that (leave the photosensitivity of the sensitized Resin layers can be increased by using (leil resin solutions carbon disulfide, Xan, liogenite, thioureas with or without the addition of sulfur. It it is already known that Syrian asphalt is sensitive to light such carbon disulfide-sulfur additives can increase. But it wasn't it can be foreseen that the same effect will occur with the completely different types of resins would.
Beispiel 4. Bei dem Verfahren nach Beispiel 3 entspricht die Belichtungsdauer derjenigen von Beispiel i.Example 4. 15 percent carbon disulfide is added to the resin solution discussed under example i and the solution used is as under i and 3. In the process according to examples i and 2, caustic potash increases the sensitivity to light by 10 to 20 percent In the method according to example 3 , the exposure time corresponds to that of example i.
Finally, the light sensitivity can also be reduced by adding Amounts of alcohol-soluble protein breakdown products, e.g. B. Protalbin or Lvsalbine ti. Like. Get it.
B e i s p i e 1 5. Treatment of reflux condenser a mixture of i part of corn or wheat io parts 70 to 8o percent Alkoliol by boiling for several hours, so go TURN the proteins present in these products in solution in corn zein, when wheat -las Gliadin. VGn of the protein alcohol solution thus obtained is added to the resin solution under 1 and 2 10 percent. This increases the sensitivity to light by about 10 percent.
The duplications are carried out using the usual procedures for photoprinting. The documents can be etched after development or the developed layer can be used immediately for printing. The particular advantage of the new method is its simplicity and the fact that only moderate temperatures are used, so that, for. B. a loss of strength in zinc clichés, as was often the case with the older processes, cannot occur. Furthermore, the copies made in this way are significantly sharper and more resistant than those made by the Alburnin process due to the hardness of the resin layer. Likewise, z. B. Zinc or copper plates are etched deeper than before, because the resin forms an excellent acid protection. For the same reason, clichés according to your present process are much more resistant to printing and give much softer and cleaner images. The process is suitable for all photocopying processes on non-absorbent substrates in single and multi-color printing. It can e.g. B. also be used in lithography, wohei turn the main - is advantageous in Fort falling of the annoying one Cote d and baking. Compared to the asphalt copying process in lithography, it still has the advantage of being more sensitive to light and cheap.
