Description
The invention relates to an arrangement for measuring the mass flow a medium, in particular the intake air of an internal combustion engine, with a measuring resistor heated by an electric current, the is in thermal contact with the flowing medium, the current with With the help of a control loop is regulated so that the Overtemperature of the measuring resistor compared to the medium in the is essentially constant.
Sensors are used in particular for regulating internal combustion engines needed to measure the intake air mass. At acquaintances Sensors becomes a measuring resistor, its resistance value is temperature dependent, a current flows through it Warming compared to the temperature of the flowing medium causes. Depending on the mass flow, the measuring resistor gets more or less heat withdrawn. With the help of a control loop, the current becomes like this regulated that the measuring resistor is a substantially constant Has overtemperature compared to the medium. The current thus results a measure of the mass flow and a known cross section of the Flow is a measure of the air mass sucked in per unit of time becomes.
Due to sample scattering of the measuring resistor, however Falsified measurement result. It is therefore in a device for Generation of a uniform characteristic curve of the sensors (DE 36 34 854 A1) provided that that of the respective sensor or a signal emitted downstream of this arrangement first are converted into digital values, which then also depend on the size Correction values are linked, which in analog signals are converted, which are then the signals of the sensor or the arrangement is added with the correct sign, the sum is processed as a corrected signal.
A main reason for the characteristic curve spreading, that is Falsification of the measured values depending on the scatter of specimens, are fluctuations in the resistance values of the individual Measuring resistances and less fluctuations in geometry. Such Resistance error (e.g. due to different Square resistance due to thick film resistances Errors) both lead to a change in the overtemperature of the Measuring resistance as well as a change in the dependence of the Excess temperature from the temperature of the medium. With the known These changes result in an error in the device Temperature response. These errors are said to be with the invention Arrangement can be avoided.
From DE-OS 37 17 331 an arrangement for measuring the Mass flows of a medium with a heated measuring resistor and known to a digitally working control loop, which ensures that the measuring resistor is operated at a certain level. A Correction circuit separate from the control loop, which is the control loop Correction signal is not provided.
The arrangement according to the invention is characterized by means to to supply the control loop with a correction signal, which is carried out with the aid of a digital correction circuit from one of the Flow velocity dependent size is obtained.
The arrangement according to the invention has the advantage that the above errors are corrected. You can also also complicated correction functions specific to each sensor will be realized. Furthermore, the correction circuit with a relatively low resolution of 8 bits, for example.
With the help of a development of the invention can be done in a simple manner a temperature correction can be made that further one essentially the current through the measuring resistor proportional voltage superimposed on a temperature correction signal is also using the digital correction circuit is won.
Another development of the invention is that the Measuring resistor together with a resistor a first branch of a Bridge circuit consisting of a temperature-dependent resistor and one there is further resistance and that the bridge diagonal connections of the Branches each connected to an input of a differential amplifier are together with an actuator for the bridge current Control loop forms, and that the one input of the Differential amplifier an adder circuit is connected, the an input with the bridge diagonal connection of the measuring resistor contained branch and its other input with an output of Correction circuit is connected.
This development of the invention enables the in a simple manner Correction mentioned above in an arrangement known per se with a bridge circuit.
By the measures listed in the subclaims advantageous developments and improvements in the main claim specified invention possible. In particular, by the use of a microcomputer in the correction circuit the realization of any correction functions possible. By considering the rate of change of the flow rate at the Formation of the correction signal can result in a faster response time reached or a held sensor signal are generated.
Es zeigt:The invention permits numerous embodiments. Several of them are schematic in the drawing using several figures shown and described below. It shows:

Fig. 2 ein zweites Ausführungsbeispiel, Fig. 2 shows a second embodiment,
Fig. 3 ein drittes Ausführungsbeispiel, Fig. 3 shows a third embodiment,
Fig. 4 ein Blockschaltbild einer für die Verwendung in den Ausführungsbeispielen geeigneten Korrekturschaltung und Fig. 4 is a block diagram of an apparatus suitable for use in the embodiments correction circuit, and
FIG. 5 shows in the form of a flow chart a program for a microcomputer contained in the correction circuit according to FIG. 4.
Identical parts are given the same reference symbols in the figures Mistake.
The embodiments according to FIGS. 1 to 3 each containing in known manner a bridge circuit, of which one branch of the temperature-dependent measuring resistor 2 and a substantially temperature-independent resistor 4 is formed. The other bridge branch consists of a temperature-dependent resistor 1 and a further temperature-independent resistor 3 . A current is applied to the bridge circuit, which current is fed from the positive pole 8 to an operating voltage source U B via a transistor 9 serving as an actuator. To measure the current through the bridge circuit, a current measuring resistor 10 is provided, one connection of which is connected to ground and the other connection forms the output 11 of the arrangement.
The actual measuring process takes place with the help of the bridge branch containing the measuring resistor 2 and the resistor 4 , while the other branch is used to measure the air temperature. So that the measuring resistor 2 is heated with respect to the air, the measuring resistor 2 and the resistor 4 have a relatively low resistance. In contrast, the resistors 1 and 3 have a higher resistance, so that the temperature-dependent resistor 1 does not assume any excess temperature. It is therefore also arranged in front of the measuring resistor 2 when viewed in the direction of flow. Because of the explained resistance relationships, the current through the current measuring resistor 10 can thus be essentially equated to the current through the measuring resistor 2 .
To regulate the current in the known arrangement, the bridge diagonal connections 5 , 6 of the bridge circuit are connected to inputs of a differential amplifier 7 , the output of which is connected to the base of the transistor 9 .
To correct the above-mentioned sample variations, a digitally working correction circuit 13 is provided, the output signal of which is fed to the control circuit. This is done in the exemplary embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 in that an adding circuit 15 is connected upstream of the inverting input of the differential amplifier 7 , the inputs of which are connected on the one hand to the output 6 of the bridge circuit and on the other hand to an output 14 of the correction circuit 13 .
In the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the voltage at the output 6 of the bridge circuit is supplied to an input 12 of the correction circuit 13 in order to generate the correction signal output via the output 14 . In the embodiment of FIG. 3 the input 13 is fed to the correction circuit 12 of the current through the measuring resistor 2 is substantially proportional to voltage on the current sensing resistor 10 degrees. In order to obtain an equivalent correction compared to the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the correction circuit 13 in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3 provides different correction functions than in the correction circuits according to FIGS. 1 and 2. When the correction circuit 13 is implemented with the aid of a microcomputer and a non-volatile memory ( FIG. 4), this can be done in a simple manner.
The exemplary embodiments also differ with regard to the consideration of the temperature in the correction. By supplying the output voltage of the second bridge branch 1 , 3 to the non-inverting input of the differential amplifier 7 , the air temperature is already taken into account as such, but there are further temperature-dependent errors which are corrected in the embodiment according to FIG. 1 by the fact that the Bridge circuit applied voltage is supplied to a further input 16 of the correction circuit 13 . By dividing the voltage at the input 12 by the voltage at the input 16 , the air temperature is determined and taken into account in the formation of the correction signal which is fed to the adding circuit 15 .
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2, the voltage at the bridge circuit is also fed to the correction circuit 13 , but it is not taken into account in the formation of the correction signal, but instead leads to the formation of an additional temperature correction signal after the above-mentioned division, which via a further output 17 of the correction circuit 13 is given to a further adder circuit 18 , with the aid of which it is superimposed on the voltage across the current measuring resistor 10 .
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3, as in FIG. 2, a temperature correction signal is fed to the further adding circuit 18 via the output 17 . However, it is left open with which temperature-dependent voltage the input 16 of the correction circuit 13 is to be applied. This can either be the output voltage of one of the bridge branches divided by the voltage at the bridge circuit or the output voltage of an additionally arranged temperature sensor.
Fig. 4 shows a correction circuit which can be used advantageously in the illustrated embodiments. It essentially contains a microcomputer 23 and a non-volatile memory 24 . The microcomputer 23 serves as a digital correction circuit and contains, in a manner known per se, a microprocessor as well as various memories for programs and the data arising during the program run. Correction data for the individual arrangement are stored in the non-volatile memory and are determined when the arrangement is calibrated.
Two analog / digital converters 25 , 26 and two digital / analog converters 27 , 28 are connected to the microcomputer 23 . With the aid of the analog / digital converter 25 , 26 , the voltages supplied to the inputs 12 , 16 are converted into digital signals and supplied to the microcomputer 23 , while the digital / analog converter provided by the microcomputer digital signals into voltages at the outputs 14 , 17 convert. The analog / digital converters can be formed by R-2R networks.
With the aid of a suitable program, the microcomputer reads out correction values as a function of the voltages present at the inputs 12 , 16 from the non-volatile memory and supplies them to the outputs 14 , 17 as correction voltages. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, both correction voltages are combined in a suitable manner and output via the output 14 . In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2, the digital / analog converter 27 and the output 14 are provided for the correction of sample variations and non-linearities of the resistors 1 to 4 , while the voltage for the correction is provided via the digital / analog converter 28 and the output 17 of the temperature influence is output.

FIG. 5 shows a flow chart of a program for the microcomputer 23 ( FIG. 4) for the case of use in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1. In a program step 31 , the output signals of the analog / digital converters 25 , 26 ( FIG. 3 ) read. In a further program step 32 , correction values are read out from the non-volatile memory 24 at addresses dependent on the data read in, and a correction voltage according to the equation U corr (n) = f (signal - g (U corr (n-1) ), temp.) educated.
