Description
Device for the introduction of promoting the development of plants Fabrics in soft, sap-bearing parts. The invention relates to a device to introduce substances that promote development into soft, sap-bearing parts of plants.
It has been shown that the development of plants is essentially dependent on depends on such substances, which are in., plant sap in solution or otherwise Distribution are located. Depending on the ratio in which the various substances are present the plants develop more or less favorably.
The invention is based on the fact that the composition of the plant sap is influenced in a favorable sense by the direct introduction of certain substances, while it is not possible to obtain such substances by way of fertilization To feed the plant.
Not only actual nutrients come into consideration as such substances, but above all those substances that have the harmful effects of others in the Balance the sap of existing substances. It can happen, for example, that certain substances, the presence of which is desirable when they are in the sap are present in excess, have a detrimental effect on development. This harmful Effect can be eliminated by introducing antidotes.
It has already been proposed for similar purposes in the case of fruit trees, to drill holes in the tree trunks and to drive wooden pegs into these holes, which contain the active substances in solid or paste-like form. This way of working However, it cannot be used in all cases, especially not when the injured parts of the plants have a tendency to come into contact with the exterior lift to form a layer of cork on the exposed surface, as is the case e.g. B. with potatoes the case is. Such cork formation can occur even with very brief contact with the outside air can enter and continue to progress when the opening is closed again is, especially .then if the air entry is not completely prevented how: it can easily be the case when using wooden pegs as this will not always fill the opening completely. The formation of layers of cork but would lead to preventing the active substances from being absorbed by the juice.
To avoid this, according to the invention to introduce the active substances a stick is used, either from the active substance itself exists or is completely or partially coated or soaked with it. Instead of one Chopsticks can of course also be thin strips of wood or metal, wires or the like. to be used. Bodies designed in this way can be divided into soft plant parts, like potatoes, without making an opening beforehand. It will thus the creation of the opening combined with the introduction of the active substance, and since the chopsticks and the like naturally completely fill the opening made by them have to fill in, so will the entry of air and the associated risk of : Cork formation completely avoided. The familiar ones mentioned earlier Wooden pegs cannot be used for this purpose; because with them the active substances are located in an inner cavity of the wooden stake. this is essential in the older method because there the direct contact of the effective substances with the toe tissue of the tree are avoided and the uptake the substances in the juice should only take place very slowly. For the present invention it is, however, essential that the substances are in direct contact with the parts carrying the juice Come into contact so that they, if gradually, at least relatively quickly can come into effect. The active substances must therefore be on the outside of the chopsticks to be introduced or the like.
The production of the chopsticks is done either in such a way that they are formed directly from the active substance by molding, casting or the like, or that, if necessary using suitable solvents and binders, the active substances on the entire surface of the stick or the like. Or even only on part of this surface, e.g. B. similar to a match head applies or that one finally made of absorbent material, z. B. wood, existing chopsticks soaked with a solution of the active substances. _ The use of such chopsticks o. The like. At the same time enables a dosage of the quantities to be introduced into the plants of the active substances.
Beispiele. i.
In the case of potato of various origins, it has proven to be desirable shown to introduce acids into the juice. It has emerged that this is in the Form of copper sulfate can be supplied, whereby at the same time by the copper a Immunization against the Phytophtora is achieved, for this purpose being effective Mass composed of 90 parts of copper sulphate and = 0 parts of glue and the rest proceed as in example i. You can also simply fill the stick with concentrated vitreous copper solution soak. In this case, the dosage must be carried out very carefully in order to avoid damage to avoid germination through the copper.
