Abstract

A post-type insulator, esp. for attachment to transformers and to switchgear cabinets has a stem (10) made of rigid material such as cast resin and a base part (11) made of more elastic material, such as silicone rubber. The latter surrounds the connector (22) with a radial preload dust-and water-tight. It encloses also a field control electrode (16) which is integrated in the base part (11) and made of the same material. The connector bolt (15), made of copper, has a thread (15c) on top and a connector pin (15a) at the bottom.
