Abstract

The frame gasket comprises a tubular profile (1) with an inner longitudinal cavity and peripheral flange, having only one butt joint. Coupling metal inserts are provided for engagement into associated holes of the abutment surface about an oven opening. The inserts are either L-shaped possibly with asymmetrical legs, with coupling tabs (9) for the corner bent portions of the frame, or formed as elongated metal plates (8) with spring-like prongs (9) for engagement into holes of the rectilinear lengths. The prongs (9) and the coupling tabs protrude from the profile through slots (11) formed by removal of material. Alternatively, the metal inserts are all identical, formed of a longitudinal plate length to be fitted into the cavity and fonded at an end with a hooked tab projecting outwardly through a hole of the profile. Two insert members are provided at each corner region, and one of them at each free end of the frame when it is open with three sides.
