Abstract
An electric-acoustic transducer (7) is implanted in a bone, pref. the mastoid bone (5), near to the ear. The transducer may be coupled via an electrical conductor to a current supply unit outside the bone, pref. worn on the body of the user. Alternatively the supply may be with the transducer in the implant. The transducer (7) has a connecting piece (8) attached to it, and protruding through the bone. This piece (8) is used to instal or adjsut the transducer. Alternatively it may be used to recharge a rechargeable power supply unit. A sound outlet channel (12) passes from the transducer to the hearing canal. The transducer possesses a bone-transmission vibrator, e.g. applied to the labyrinth block (13). The transducer is driven from an amplifier or receiver.
