Abstract

A tiled stove is provided with an easily removable tile holder for access to a flue for cleaning etc. The tile fastener contains a frame (10), formed by four overlapping corner pieces with slotted holes, which enable the size of the frame to be adjusted to suit the tile size. Slotted bars (42) have one of their ends attached to diagonally opposite corners of the frame. The two bars are connected to each other by a third bar (38) with bolts (48) which engage the slots (44). The third bar has a central tapped hole (52). The frame is embedded in the fireclay which holds the adjacent tiles in place with a bolt (54) passing through a hole in the removable tile engaging the tapped hole.
