Description
Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf die Anwendung einer Oberflächenschicht durch Stickstoffdiffusion bei einer zum Einzementieren bestimmten Gelenkdoprothese aus einer Titanlegierung. - Gelenkendoprothesen bestehen bekanntlich aus einem in den Markkanal eines Gelenkknochens einsetzbaren Schaft, einem Abschlußteller und einem Gelenkkugelteil oder einem Gelenkkugelanschlußteil. Der Schaft 1 wird in den Knochen einzementiert. Der Schaft 1 mit dem Abschlußteller 2 und auch dem Gelenkanschlußteil 3 bestehen aus einer Titanlegierung. Es versteht sich, daß der eingebaute Schaft 1 ein schließlich des Abschlußtellers 2 bei der Bewegung eines Patienten, der mit einer Hüftgelenkprothese versehen ist, bereichsweise unterschiedliche Beanspruchungen erfährt.
