Abstract

The invention relates to a process and arrangement for producing toothbrush mouldings with divided brush heads or functional surfaces by the injection-moulding technique. When injection moulding thermoplastics, depending on the plastication temperature, considerable values of thermal contraction have to be accepted. By means of a controllable temperature control according to Fig. 1, these contractions are directed in such a way that an internal bracing of the brush heads (12) and (13) against each other results. The temperature control in or at the parting wall (17) is thus different to the temperature control in or at the outer injection mould (2). The inner bracing of the head parts (12) and (13) eliminates the gap (16) caused by production between the head parts (12) and (13) towards the open end, the head parts contact each other under pressure and a spreading apart of the head parts during the cleaning function is prevented. A flexible movement of the head parts is possible only in the direction of the bristles, while there is lateral stability. <IMAGE>

Bei (11) und (11 a) ist mögliches Isolationsmaterial ange­ ordnet, das eine deutlich getrennte Temperaturführung im Be­ reich der Form (2) und im Bereich der Trennwandung (17) ermöglicht. Weitere Wärmeisolatoren wie z. B. (18) und (18 a) können in den seitlichen Wandungen der Form (2) angeordnet sein. Eine weitere Ausführungsform sieht vor, daß das Material der äußeren Form (2) eine differente Wärmeleitfähigkeit durch Materialauswahl und -stärke, zum Material der Trenn­ wandung (7) besitzt und daß Isolationsflächen fehlen. Weiter ist in einer anderen Ausführung die Kühlung der Form (2) und der Trennwandung (17) durch Kühlmittel unter­ schiedlicher Wärmeaufnahmefähigkeit vorgesehen.
