Abstract
A cable comprises a core of aromatic polyamide fibre filaments within a semiconductor layer wound with a helix of electricity conductive wire within an insulating layer encased by an outer cladding. At least one contact terminal is clinched to the cladding and has a contact clip for making electrical contact between the helix and terminal. The filaments are pref. of Kevlar fibre, the semiconductor layer is a compound of ferrite and PVC, the insulation is an extruded layer of medium- to high- density EPDM rubber, and the cladding is of Hypalon. The terminal pref. has a longitudinally split cylindrical body joined to a clinching collar and located in contact with one of the arms of a U-shaped clip, with the other inserted axially into the cable end in contact with the helix.
