Abstract
Absorbents for selective binding of low-density lipoproteins (LDL) comprise cellulose beads with a dia. of 0.1-0.3 mm and a total pore vol. (TPV) of at least 2 cc/g, at least 10% of the TPV being in macropores with a dia. of 20-2000 nm. The beads comprise regenerated cellulose. They may be regenerated by washing successively with 0.1M glycine.HCl buffer (pH 2.8), 5-6M urea and PBS.
