Abstract

Optically active N-(4-halo-alpha-methylbenzyl) -2,2-dichloro-1-cyclopropane carboxamides of formula (I) and their enantiomer pairs are new: X = halogen; R1 and R2 = H or alkyl. (I) may be prepd. by: (a) reaction of an amine of formula (II) with an acid or acid halide of formula (III) (Y = OH or halogen), provided that at least one of (II) and (III) is optically active; or (b) optical resolution of the corresp. racemic cpds.
