Abstract

The bogie contains a H-shaped bogie frame (3) which has two longitudinal beams (4) of a construction, which is resistant to bending and twisting, and a single transverse beam (5) of a construction which is resistant to bending, but twistable. The transverse beam (5) contains a flange part (16), which is rigidly connected to the two longitudinal beams (4), for transmitting at least the majority of the horizontal forces, acting in the longitudinal direction of the bogie, and of the horizontal bending moments, acting about a vertical axis (12) of rotation, and a web part (8) which is rigidly connected to said flange part and to the longitudinal beams (4). The transverse beam (5) is constructed at least within the central third of its longitudinal extension with a cross-section, the shear centre (S) of which lies within or at least near to the flange part (16). In the case of a staggering of the longitudinal beams (4), which are connected rigidly at the corners by the transverse beam (5), the transverse beam (5) is therefore twisted about an axis which is determined by the shear centre (S) and extends correspondingly in the region of the flange part (16), with the result that said flange part (16) undergoes a correspondingly low loading due to curving stresses. <IMAGE>
