Abstract

A terminal coupling element for use with multistrand (4) electrical cables uses an adaptor sleeve (1) to effect a press fit. The adaptor is in the form of a thin walled sleeve of copper that is a press fit within the bore the terminal element. The insulation is removed from the cable before being inserted into the sleeve. The sleeve can be produced with a hole pattern to enhance the contact gripping between cable and terminal. An alternative uses a number og segment sleeves that locate on the strands.
