Abstract
1. Method of operating a vacuum sewage plant having at least one vacuum sewage conduit connected to a vacuum station, and having on the premises from which sewage is to be removed a plurality of sewage collecting containers each of which is connectable to said conduit by means of a shutoff valve, each shutoff valve being opened at a specific maximum water level in the collecting container and closed again after a specific period of time during which sewage and air flow into the sewage conduit, characterised in that the actuation points in time of the shutoff valves are adjusted, in dependence on the negative pressure in the sewage conduit, by the negative pressure itself, such that on increasing absolute pressure in the sewage conduit the opening time, associated with a specific quantity of sewage, for the admission of air into the sewage conduit is prolonged and/or the shutoff valves are opened at a relatively low water level in the collecting container.
