Diese Mitnahme wird dadurch begünstigt, daß sich - wie in Fig. 5 zu erkennen - der Wattewickel 5 ausdehnt, sobald er das Rohr 2 verläßt. Hierdurch ergibt sich ein fester Sitz der Umhüllung 7 auf dem Wattewickel 5, der nunmehr in eine Preßstation 9 ein­ tritt, deren Anfang in Fig. 5 zu erkennen ist und in der der Tampon durch in radialer Richtung sowohl auf den Watte­ wickel 5 als auch auf die Umhüllung 7 einwirkende Preß­ kräfte seine Endform erhält.After the shrinking of the sheath 7 and formation of the bend from 7 d , the cotton roll 5 is pushed out in the direction of the arrow from the tube 2 as shown in FIG. 5. Claims (8)

1. Verfahren zur Herstellung von Tampons für die Frauen­ hygiene aus einem Wattebandabschnitt, der mit einem Rückholband ausgestattet, zu einem etwa zylindrischen Zwischenprodukt aufgewickelt, mit einer Umhüllung aus flüssigkeitsdurchlässigem Vliesmaterial versehen und durch in radialer Richtung einwirkende Preßkräfte in seine Endform gebracht wird, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Wattewickel (5) in ein Rohr (2) eingeschoben wird, auf dessen Mantelfläche die Umhüllung (7) herge­ stellt wird, indem ein Abschnitt eines thermopla­ stischen, schrumpffähigen Vliesmaterials auf das Rohr (2) aufgebracht und an seinen einander überlappenden Längskanten (7 a, 7 b) verschweißt wird, wobei die Um­ hüllung (7) zumindest nach Herstellen der Längsnaht (7 c) über ein Ende des Rohres (2) hinausragt, und daß an­ schließend mindestens der das Rohr (2) überragende Teil der Umhüllung (7) durch Einwirken von Wärme geschrumpft wird und eine etwa radial nach innen verlaufende Ab­ kantung (7 d) bildet, an der sich das Rückholende (10) des Wattewickels (5) anlegt, wenn dieser axial aus dem Rohr (2) herausgeschoben wird, um mit der sich auf den Wattewickel (5) auflegenden Umhüllung (7) dem nach­ folgenden Preßvorgang zugeführt zu werden.1.
