An der Abgasleitung eines nicht dargestellten Schleppers mit einer Brennkraftmaschine ist mit 1 deren Abgassammel rohr bezeichnet, an das nach oben ein Abgasrohr 2 an schließt. Das Abgasrohr 2 ist zumeist durch eine Öffnung in einer als Verkleidung der Brennkraftmaschine weg schwenkbaren Haube hindurchgeführt und trägt oberhalb der Haube einen ebenfalls nicht gezeigten Schalldämpfer für die Abgase. Um das Hochschwenken der Haube beispielsweise zur Durchführung von Wartungsarbeiten an der Brennkraftma schine zu ermöglichen, muß der Schalldämpfer abgenommen werden. Zu diesem Zweck ist unterhalb des Schalldämpfers zwischen dem mit diesem verbundenen Abgasrohr 2 und dem Abgassammelrohr 1 eine Trennstelle 3 vorgesehen, die sich zweckdienlich nahe der Durchtrittsöffnung der Abgasleitung durch die Haube befindet. Damit der Abbau des Schall dämpfers einfach durchführbar ist, ist an der Trennstelle zwischen dem Abgassammelrohr 1 und dem Abgasrohr 2 eine einfache Steckverbindung vorgesehen, an der das Abgasrohr 2 lösbar über das Abgassammelrohr 1 greift. Im Abgasrohr 2 befindet sich ein in Längsrichtung verlaufender Schlitz 4, der zum unteren Rohrende hin offen ist. Der Schlitz 4 weicht in seinem oberen Bereich 5 in einem stumpfen Winkel von seinem Verlauf in der Längsrichtung seitlich ab und ist in diesem Bereich 5 konisch ausgebildet. Ein am Abgas sammelrohr 1 radial befestigter Zapfen 6 ragt bei aufge stecktem Abgasrohr 2 durch den Schlitz 4, 5 nach außen. Dabei ist die Anordnung des Zapfens 6 am Abgassammelrohr 1 so getroffen, daß der Zapfen 6 bei der aufgesteckten End stellung des Abgasrohres 2 zwischen den Begrenzungskanten im Bereich 5 des Schlitzes 4 festgesetzt ist. Auf diese Weise ist das Abgasrohr 2 bzw. der damit verbundene Schalldämpfer sowohl gegen Verdrehung als auch gegen ande re unerwünschte Bewegungen weitgehend gesichert. Das Lösen dieser Verbindung erfolgt durch Drehung des Abgasrohres 2 bzw. des Schalldämpfers im Uhrzeigersinn und Abziehen des selben in vertikaler Richtung vom Abgassammelrohr 1. Ge gebenenfalls kann es zweckmäßig sein, wenn der Längs schlitz 4 im Randbereich, insbesondere sein konischer Be reich 5, mit einer Verstärkung 7 versehen ist.
