Abstract

By means of the shears-frame device, a trailerable catamaran can be kept stable at the necessary width of 2.50 m. No additional equipment is necessary when launching the catamaran, and time in the slips is reduced substantially. Narrow rivers and canals can be navigated with the catamaran pushed together, and the double berth fee otherwise charged in yacht harbours is avoided. The front ends of the shears frame connecting the two hulls are fastened to the hulls so as to pivot, and its rear ends run in rails fastened to the hulls. If a rear end of the shears frame is moved to the rear or the front in its rail by means of a rope running through a winch, the hulls are pushed apart or together. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a scissor device for and pushing apart the two hulls of a catamaran.

The invention solves the problem of a catamaran, with its own extreme width, as opposed to other pleasure craft, in the simplest way to a minimum Pull together width. In particular, this invention relates the increasingly popular trailerable, habitable kata marane with z. B. the dimensions: overall length: 8 m, width Overall: 5 m, hull width: 1 m. These are catamarans Called "Micro-Multihull" and in France they are called "Formule 28". Catamarans belong to this multihull class and trimarans. A min. Width of 2.50 m when trailering a catamaran, and a minimal width becomes desired when looking for a berth in marinas and around with to be able to sail rivers or canals in a catamaran. Slipping a catamaran with scissors device is significantly simplified since the trailer as Slipper car is used, and the catamaran in its together pushed, stable state into the water, and in the floating position by turning a winch is pushed. Shall the catamaran get out of the water again put on the trailer is in reverse order follow procedure.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and is described in more detail below:

A vertical axis ( 1 ) is attached to the front inside of each hull. The front ends of the scissors ( 2 ) are rotatably mounted about this axis. Horizontal rails ( 3 ) are attached to the rear inside of the hulls. The rear ends of the scissors ( 4 ) are guided in these rails ( 3 ). If the catamaran is pushed together on the water, you remove the two cross members ( 5 ), which are only required when sailing. A rope ( 6 ) is attached to a rear end of the scissors. This rope is placed around a winch ( 7 ), which is attached to the back of a hull. By turning the winch handle, the rear ends of the scissors ( 4 ) move aft in their rails, and the two hulls move together. If the catamaran is to be pulled apart from its pushed-together state, the rope is placed around the pulley ( 8 ) on the winch ( 7 ) again, and by turning the crank the scissor ends ( 4 ) move forward in their rails ( 3 ) , and the hulls of the Kata marans spread apart. The scissor ends ( 4 ) can be locked at the respective end points on the rail ( 3 ). When the hulls are pushed together, even the sail mast can stop. The mast foot is attached to the pivot point of the scissors ( 9 ). Before pushing together, two rods are hooked into the upper part of the mast, and the lower rod ends are hooked onto the buk of the hulls. The two poles together with the mast form a "tripod". When pushed together, the lower mast end, which is rotatably mounted in the mast base, moves aft with the scissor pivot point ( 9 ).
