Theatersitze sind in Reihen angeordnet, und der Abstand zwischen je zwei Reihen ist so klein wie möglich gemacht, damit möglichst viel Sitzplätze untergebracht werden können. Infolge der Enge des Zwiscbenraums müssen Personen, welche bereits Platz genommen haben, aufstehen, damit Neuankömmlinge die noch freien Sitze erreichen können. Dasselbe gilt, wenn eine Person vorzeitig ihren Platz verlassen will.
