Abstract
Description
B. DE-OS 31 02 140.The invention relates to a method for producing Upholstered bodies made of molded foam with at least two different ones Hardness areas, one of at least two with foaming components of existing plastic that react with one another in pour capable of being foamed in a form, cf. e.g. B. DE-OS 31 02 140.
With all types of upholstered bodies, especially with seat or back poles star but also for upholstery bodies intended for vehicles, such as Dashboards, armrests, armrest-handle combinations, etc. it is often desirable to have a lower hardness in certain areas than in the other z. B. to have marginal areas.
From DE-OS 31 02 140 it is known to manufacture z. B. Upholstery for vehicle seats, a polyurethane foam forming To produce reaction product from a reaction mixture for the different zones of the cushion to achieve different Hardness has different key figures. Here who the through a special arrangement of the inlet openings in the zones of the mold cavity introduced the mixture flows so that they flow against each other and into each other to overlap to form runners in the form of flap-like projections and beads. This method does not result in separations that cannot be determined lines between the hard and soft foam cushion zones.
In another, known from DE-OS 34 12 359 upholstery body with a dimensionally stable insert and one surrounding the insert the cushion layer made of foam plastic is provided that the Insert in partial arrangement at least one made of porous material existing and embedded in the foam material of the cushion layer all or part of the foam material of the cushion layer set edition wears. This known cushion body requires one relatively high manufacturing costs.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a method of the type mentioned in the introduction show that it allows a cushion body with at least two different hardness ranges particularly easy and inexpensive to produce and the respective areas smaller or larger higher hardness according to the respective technical requirements without specifying any special manufacturing effort.
The method envisaged for solving this task stands out according to the invention in that the reaction mixture is magneti sizable particles adds, the magnetizable particles with can foam and on the foaming reaction mixture in at magnetic field in at least a selected area to concentrate the magnetizable particles in regions.
The measures according to the invention are used to define exactly Batches of the cushion body have an external force effect during the Reaction process of the foam exerted on this and thereby a Accumulation (concentration) of the magnetizable particles and thus a higher foam density and strength and in particular a achieved higher foam hardness in the selected areas. Farther the invention offers the particular advantage that an essential Improvement of the thermal behavior of the cushion body in the Areas of high concentration of the magnetizable particles achieved is because in these areas the specific heat capacity of the Foam is lowered. Another major advantage the invention is to be seen in that by the targeted one effect of the magnetic field also realize a foam flow control lets what especially with narrow passage passages of the mold cavity is important. The invention is also the object in terms of simple and inexpensive production; because the admixture of magnetizable particles has on the parts low cost impact. The creation of a Magnetic field is practically of no importance in terms of cost.
Fine to coarse-grained powders, Chips or flakes can be used. In particular, as mag netisable particles iron particles can be used without problems and are inexpensive to obtain. That or everyone on that foaming reaction mixture acting magnetic field is before partially generated by means of an electromagnet. Electromag nets can be easily installed in a foam mold and so posi tioned and activated that the desired concentration the magnetizable particles in at least one selected Be is achieved richly. According to an essential embodiment the invention provide that the field strength of the on selected area of applied magnetic field, based on the length of the selected area, variable, such as B. linearly increasing is laid. In this way, a flow restriction of the Avoid the reaction mixture in the form or improve the flow tion z. B. towards the end of a narrowed flow channel achieve.
The method according to the invention is illustrated using the example of an armrest Handle combination for vehicles explained below, wherein the combination a one-piece rotated plastic skin, one in it used support element (reinforcement insert made of plastic and or sheet metal) and plastic foam, the latter the carrier element envelops and the cavity of the inserted in a foam mold Fills in plastic skin. There is a requirement, the handle area harder to much harder than the armrest area form.
In the method according to the invention, a component is first from z. B. two components of existing foam with particles made of magnetizable material (e.g. steel chips). To mixing the components creates a reactive Ge mix, which is filled into the foam mold in which be are already on the skin and the support element. In the fields of, which should later have a higher hardness on the product (here hold grip area), is in the foam form at least one magnet, preferred wise electromagnet, permanently installed. When the foam reacts in the foam form there is a significantly increased accumulation of magnetizable particles in the magnetic field instead. A density increase of the foam is in the area defined by the magnetic field on the one hand by an accumulation of those forming a reinforcing material Particles (e.g. steel shavings) and secondly due to an increased germ number (higher foam density) achieved.
