Float steam meter. The invention relates to a steam counter which moves in a known manner, a float 12 in a nozzle 13 up and down, this motion is transmitted through a steam lever Z, 3 1 has a shaft 4 and an outer lever 45th The counter itself consists of a friction disc 46 or 36, which is moved by a clock, and a friction wheel. If the friction wheel occupies exactly the middle position of the friction disk 46 or 36 , the friction wheel is not taken along by the friction disk. If the friction wheel is removed from the center of the friction disk by the movement of the float and by the movement of the lever 45, the friction wheel rotates in a known manner, proportional to the distance from the center line.
In the known counters with a horizontal friction wheel, this was pressed against the friction disk either by a spring or, in the case of indicators, by a loading weight. A pressing of the friction wheel against the friction disk has the effect that the friction disk driven by a clockwork has various inhibiting effects on the clockwork according to the distance from the center point. The speed of rotation of the friction disk is therefore different, depending on the distance between the friction wheel and the center of the friction disk. This results in uncontrollable inaccuracies, since the slowing down of the clock depends on the different levels of pressure exerted by the friction wheel. It is also essential that the pressure caused by the weight of the counter always remains unchangeable under all circumstances. In practice, it often happens that the friction disc is not precisely aligned during assembly, so that the friction wheel rises and falls during the rotating movement of the friction disc. When a spring force is pressed against it, the spring would be more or less tensioned, which would cause a greater or lesser pressing force. It is therefore essential that the force with which the friction wheel rests on the friction disc, is fixed, and this is only possible because the corresponding force consists exclusively of the E igengewicht. Due to the fact that the friction wheel has a certain dimension, the dead weight can never be too small, but certainly too large. An entrainment of the friction wheel is guaranteed by the fact that it is entrained even with the smallest dead weight due to the construction. If the dead weight is kept too high, it has an inhibiting effect on the clockwork. The dead weight with which the friction wheel rests on the friction disc is therefore limited, on the one hand downwards by the minimal weight of the friction wheel with the housing and upwards by the weight corresponding to the force at which the friction wheel does not yet have an inhibiting effect on the movement.
