The invention relates to a time-division principle
working circuit to form a product of two as
electrical quantities present signals. Such multipliers
are particularly useful when building measuring devices for electrical
Power and energy - especially in electricity meters -
needed. The known methods work in the
Way that the multiplicand with a triangular voltage constant
Amplitude is compared. The result of these comparisons arises
a pulse train in which the time difference from the
Duration of a pulse and the duration of the subsequent pause
is proportional to the instantaneous value of the multiplicand.
During the pulse time, an average is formed with the positive
Value of the multiplier during the pulse pause with the negative

Design have the advantage that they have a wide range
work linearly. They have the disadvantage of being attainable
sufficient accuracy high linearity requirements on the
Delta voltage generator must be put and that by
the deterministic mode of operation possible systematic errors
are. They also have the disadvantage that they are only correct
work when multiplicand and multiplier during one
Triangular period are quasi-constant. This requirement is
especially not given when the multipliers mentioned
as a component of electronic measuring devices in directly connected
Electricity meters are used. With these
Applications cannot be ruled out if the measured variable
Current that forms the multiplier for the purpose of
Power regulation of a consumer using modern
Power semiconductor is switched at frequencies that are not
are lower than the triangular voltage frequency of the multiplier.
On the one hand, it is possible that unintentionally
serious incorrect measurements occur at the expense of the electricity customer,
on the other hand, the known circuits from Time-
Division multipliers through their deterministic operating principle
causing malfunctions of the counter measuring devices in
fraudulent intent.
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde,
einen Time-Division-Multiplizierer zu verwirklichen, der die
genannten Nachteile vermeidet. The invention is based on the object
to realize a time-division multiplier that does the
avoids disadvantages mentioned.
The object is achieved according to the invention in a circuit arrangement for product formation from a multiplicand U u and a multiplier U i according to the time division principle with a comparator which compares the variable U u with a reference variable U r generated by a generator and as a result this comparison outputs a pulse sequence f 1 at its output, the temporal dependence of which contains the information about the value of the variable U u , a controllable switch which, depending on the state of the signal f 1 - pulse or pulse pause - has one between the states + at its output U i and - U i alternating pulse sequence f 2 is generated, from which an averager forms a variable U a which is proportional to the arithmetic mean of the pulse sequence f 2 , characterized in that U r is an equally distributed noise signal, the maximum possible value of which is greater than is the largest possible value of U u , the minimum possible value of which is smaller than the smallest possible value of U u and the s takes all values between its minimum and maximum value with the same frequency.
eingesetzt. Die Zusammenschaltung von Komparator
(1), Referenzspannungsquelle (2) und Umpoler (3) stellt einen
Impulswahrscheinlichkeits-Impulshöhen-Modulator dar. Der nachgeschaltete
Mittelwertbildner (4) erzeugt aus der modulierten
Pulsfolge f 2 eine dem Produkt U u U i proportionale Größe U a .
The invention is explained below with the aid of the picture. The time division principle implements pulse width pulse height modulation in the known circuits. This means that the signal U i is reversed by means of an electronic switch ( 3 ) with a pulse sequence f 1 , the pulse duty factor of which is a measure of the value of U u . The known circuits have in common that they work with a triangular signal U r . In the arrangement according to the invention, however, a noise signal is used as U r , so that the comparator ( 1 ) together with the reference voltage source ( 2 ) represents an analog stochastic encoder. This principle is known from stochastic ergodic measurement technology. There, however, the pulse sequence f 1 is used for statistical calculation methods and not for modulation purposes. The interconnection of comparator ( 1 ), reference voltage source ( 2 ) and polarity reverser ( 3 ) constitutes a pulse probability pulse height modulator. The downstream mean value generator ( 4 ) generates a variable U a from the modulated pulse sequence f 2 that is proportional to the product U u U i . A systematic malfunction of the entire multiplier circuit due to a variable U i derived from a high-frequency switched signal is therefore only possible in the practically non-occurring case of a switching signal correlated with U r .
