Abstract

Aq. suspensions of a water-insoluble silicate capable of bonding Ca ions contain, by wt., (A) 4-25%, w.r.t. suspension, of tri-Na nitrilo-triacetate, dissolved in the aq. phase, provided that the suspension contains at least 20% water, in addn. to (B) 0.5-80% finely-divided, bonded water-contg., synthetic, water-insoluble silicate of formula (I) (Cat2/nO)x.M2O3.(SiO2)y (I) Cat=Ca-exchangeable cation of valency n; x=no. 0.7-1.5; M=B or Al; y=no. 0.8-6 (1.3-4) and (C) as dispersant, 0.5-6% mixt. of at least 2 different alkyl-phenol ethoxylates of formula (II). A claimed phosphate substitute, for detergents and cleansing compsns., contains (A), (B) and (C). The aq. suspensions are used for the prepn. of powdered or granulated phosphate substits. for detergent- and cleansing compsns. by spray-drying.
