The invention relates to surgical positioning and fixation instruments
for the temporary or permanent fixing of flat areas of tissue or skin
on a base plane; the invention particularly relates to such a surgical one
Cutlery to fix the mobile retina on the sclera of the eye.
Although the cutlery is suitable for numerous areas of application
is, it is intended in the following in connection with the transscleral magnetic fixation
the retina.
J. Ophthalmol. 23, 206-215, 1979; Am.
J. Ophthamol. 95, 260-261,1983; und Federman etal. in Opthalmology 89, 832-839,
1982). In general, mobile retina can be used for giant tears or retinotomies
through retinal incarceration through transvitreal or transscleral sutures or also
fixed by retinal nails (Jpn. J. Ophthalmol. 23, 206-215, 1979; Am.
J. Ophthamol. 95, 260-261, 1983; and Federman et al. in Opthalmology 89, 832-839,
1982).
Such complicated interventions place an undue burden on the patient
and are in many cases not and especially not necessary when, for example
the retina is fixed by means of intraocular silicone oil injections or gas insufflation
shall be.
The invention has the task of providing a positioning
and to propose fixation instruments that are used to define flat areas of tissue or skin
or the mobile retina on the choroid an easy to use and only with
allows one hand to be carried out magnetic fixation, this fixation in the
With regard to the retina to be fixed can be carried out gently without
that a rigid fixation takes place; the latter is particularly important in terms of
Any further tearing of the retina should also increase the risk of retroretinal
Ingress of oil can be reduced.
This task is solved by a surgical positioning
and fixation tools with those specified in the characterizing part of the main claim
Features. Particularly preferred embodiments are described in the subclaims.
Fixierungselementes. In the following the invention in connection with drawings is intended
be explained; It shows Fig. i a partially sectioned side view of the
Positioning device, F i g. 2 is a partially sectioned view of the upper one
End of the cannula with the pin used for fixation, FIG. 3 is a view of the
Fixing element.
0,9 mm. Solche Kanülen sind im Handel erhältlich. The positioning device 2 shown in Figs. 1 and 2 consists of a
tubular handpiece 4, which can be made of any material. Preferably
the handpiece can be a conventional tubular cylinder of an injection syringe. At the bottom

Provided cannula holder 6 on which the foot of the cannula 8 is placed. Preferably
the cannula consists of a non-magnetizable or only slightly magnetizable one
rigid material, such as B. Chromium / nickel alloy. In the present case, the
Cannula has a clear width of about 0.5 mm and an outer diameter of about
0.9 mm. Such cannulas are commercially available.
beiden Enden abgeflachter zylindrischer Körper, dessen Durchmesser so- beschaffen
A thread 14 is drawn through the cannula 8 and is inserted into the tubular
Handpiece leads; at the other end of this thread is a pin outside the cannula
16 attached from magnetizable material. The pen is preferably one on his
cylindrical body flattened at both ends, the diameter of which is as follows
is that the pen cannot be drawn into the cannula, but with his
