Description
The invention relates to a crimp connection coated with insulating varnish, electrically conductive wire with a sleeve having a contacting element, in which the wire and the contacting element are mechanically and electrically conductive such that the wire is crimped over a length l in the crimping area of the contacting element , wherein within the length l at the beginning and at the end of a length a, the sleeve inner surface each has a perpendicular to the longitudinal direction A , outwardly facing bead, which is filled out by the material of the wire and exposed at its edges by the insulating varnish with forms the wire, and a crimping tool for making a crimp connection.
A crimp connection of this type for an electrically conductive Wire that has an insulating varnish coating is made of DE-AS 10 97 505 known. The crimp connection consists of a Contacting element, which is essentially sleeve-shaped is. The wire and the contact element are used for the connection mechanically and electrically connected together in such a way that the wire in the crimp area of the contact element via a certain length is crimped. The inner surface of the sleeve Contacting element points perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the Connected, outward-facing beads on the Shape and grooves are formed. The edges of these grooves have sharp projections pointing inwards. For the production the sleeve-shaped contacting element becomes the crimp connection rolled the conductor to be connected, taking the insulating varnish Sheathing the wire from the sharp protrusions to the Edges of the grooves is broken and the material of the Wire penetrates into the grooves.
This known crimp connection has the disadvantage that for formation the contact points a large pressing force is required to Material of the wire to press into the grooves so that a perfect electrical contact can be made. The grooves must be at least as deep as the thickness of the Insulating layer that an electrical contact between the material of the wire and the contact element comes about. Because the insulation layers are generally relative are thick, this means that the grooves are also relatively deep are trained, which leads to a weakening of the Contacting element leads. An electric one at all To be able to make contact, the edges of the grooves also be provided with sharp protrusions.
From US-PS 39 90 143 is a crimp connection between one Contacting element and a stranded wire known. Because the strands of the conductor are made of aluminum, their surfaces are with isolating layers of corrosion provided during crimping must be broken. The contact element has its inner surface recesses into which the strands of the conductor partially penetrate during crimping, so that a perfect mechanical contact between the conductor and the Contacting element is made. To the isolating Corrosion layers on the aluminum strands of the conductor too break through and to make electrical contact with it, is a depression in the underside of the contacting element pressed in on the thin insulating corrosion layer should tear.
From US-PS 39 31 671 is a crimping tool for manufacturing a crimp connection known. This crimping tool consists of a lower stamp, which has a support surface for supporting the outer bending surface of a wire bent into a V shape has receiving contacting element. One on the Lower stamp lowerable upper stamp serves for bending and Roll up the V-leg of the contacting element and therefore to Crimp with the wire. The support surface of the lower stamp has a raised area when lowering the upper punch a depression on the lower punch in the contacting element presses, as in the crimp connection from US Pat. No. 3,990,143 is known.
This known crimping tool has the disadvantage that the support only insufficient support for the bent into a V-shape Contacting element forms before the crimping process, so that a Slipping away of the contact element is possible.
Based on a crimp connection of the type specified at the beginning the invention has for its object a crimping bond as well as to create a crimping tool for their manufacture, with which the insulating material can be used without great effort sheathing of the wire broken through by the crimping process and thereby the electrical contact between the contacting element and the wire is made.
A crimp connection is proposed as a technical solution, in which the wall of the sleeve and correspondingly the wire run at right angles from the longitudinal direction A by a distance b in the region between the beads along the length a .
A crimp connection designed according to this technical teaching enables the insulating material to be applied without great effort sheathing the wire during the crimping process break, making perfect contact with the electrical is produced between the contact element and the wire. The electrical contact is formed in two stages.
In the first stage, the contact points are through the edges the beads are defined and partially at the beginning of the crimp process formed when the material of the wire in the beads penetrates. In the second stage, the Sleeve transverse to the longitudinal direction of the wire and thus its Isolierstoffemantung stretched so that the already partially formed contact points in the first stage the final Contact between the wire and the contacting element is made becomes. By making the crimp connection in two stages with pressing and stretching is less effort than Previously required to establish the electrical contact so that any deformations of the contact element in Limits are kept. In addition, the technical Reduced effort.
According to a further feature, it is proposed that the wire in the area of length a smaller cross section than the rest Has crimp area.
The wire preferably has an approximately triangular cross section in the region of the length a , in which one corner faces a slot in the sleeve and the two other corners form contact points with the sleeve which are exposed by the insulating varnish.
If, according to a development, the circumferential surface of the sleeves gradually decreases from the wire-side end of the length l to the beginning of the length a in the region of the slot, the wire changes its cross-section only gradually until the beginning of the length a , so that the risk of the wire being torn out is reduced.
Starting from a crimping tool known from US Pat. No. 3,931,671 for producing a crimp connection with a lower punch with a support surface for supporting the outer bending surface of a V-shaped bent wire-receiving contact element and with an upper punch for bending and rolling the V Legs and crimping with the wire, the support surface of the lower punch being arranged in the region of the length a of the contacting element by approximately the distance b higher than the rest of the support surface, the invention proposes that the support surface is an elongated trough with an arcuate cross section and that the raised support surface at the ends of the path a has squeeze edges.
This crimping tool has the advantage that the Technically, crimp connections can be produced in a simple manner can. Through the long-standing trough with a circular arc Cross-section can be bent into a V-shape that receives the wire Contacting element simple and safe in the crimping tool be positioned without the risk of slipping consists. Through the squeezing edges at the ends of the increased support surface will the formation of the contact points at the Edges of the beads relieved.
In a practical embodiment of such a crimp the raised support surface is concentric with the tool rest of the support surface.
Finally, it is proposed in a development of the crimping tool that the upper punch on the side facing away from the wire end has an oblique working surface, so that the wire is increasingly subjected to pressure from the beginning of the crimping section approximately to the beginning of the section a during crimping.
In the crimp connection according to FIG. 7, an electrically conductive wire 1 is connected to a contact element 2 by crimping. In the crimping area, the contacting element 2 consists of a longitudinally slotted sleeve 3 made of the material of the contacting element ( FIG. 8), which firmly encloses the wire over a length l . The wire 1 is arranged from the sleeve inner surface 5 opposite the slot 4 of the sleeve 3 within the length l along a length a at a distance b at right angles from its longitudinal direction A to the slot. The same applies to the inner sleeve surface 5 and the outer sleeve surface 6 directly opposite this. The amount by which the wire 1 is offset in the region of the length a does not necessarily have to be identical to the corresponding transverse offset of the inner sleeve surface 5 and / or the transverse offset of the outer sleeve surface 6 ( FIG. 6). At the beginning and at the end of the length a , the sleeve 3 has, on the sleeve inner surface 5 opposite the slot of the sleeve, a bead 7, 8 which extends at right angles to the longitudinal direction A and is filled with the material of the wire 1 and on their edges of the insulating varnish exposed contact points 9, 10 and 11, 12 with the wire. Further contact points 13, 14 can be seen in FIG. 8. There, the wire 1 has a triangular cross section with the tip directed towards the slot 4 . The other two corners form the contact points with the sleeve material, which are identified with small circles in the drawing. Outside of the contact points, the thin insulating lacquer layer of the wire 1 is continuous.
The contacting elements 2 are punched out of a material web in the endless method according to FIG. 1, after the beads 7, 8 have been embossed at the corresponding points with sharp edges at a distance a perpendicular to the direction A.
After embossing and punching out the contacting elements 3 , the latter are bent into a V-shape in the crimping area ( FIG. 3). The contacting element is then inserted with the outer bending surface 15 into the crimping tool consisting of upper punch 16 and lower punch 17 . The lower punch has an elongated trough 18 with an approximately circular cross-section. This trough forms a support surface for supporting the bending surface 15 ; it is arranged in the region of the length a of the inserted contact element 2 by approximately the length b higher than the rest of the support surface. The elevated support surface 19 has at its ends, that is to say approximately at the ends of the region a, end-side crimping edges 20, 21 which are impressed from the outside into the sleeve region of the contacting element 2 and, together with the raised support surface 19, the inwardly displaced sleeve outer surface Form 6 of the finished crimp connection.
As is apparent from Fig. 5, the depression 18 and the elevated support surface 19 are preferably arranged concentrically to one another.
An inclined work surface 22 of the upper punch 16 impresses itself into the sleeve outer surface in the slit region, and gives the wire 1 an outlet in the inlet region of the Crimpes.
From Fig. 8 it can be seen that the V-legs 23, 24 are bent and rolled during crimping through the thigh, so that the wire 1 changes its cross-section to the triangular shape under the stamp pressure.
