Abstract

Process comprises contacting the metal surfaces with an acidic aq. phosphating soln. contg. 0.1-2.0 g/l zinc ion, 5-30 g/l phosphate ion, 0.2-3 g/l of manganese ion, and a conversion coating accelerator. The phosphated metal surfaces are then suitable for electrocoating. (First major country equivalent to CS8306138-A)
