Abstract
1. A device for securing on or in walls fire barriers intended to seal off openings in walls or ceilings, especially in assembly walls designed as lightweight fire sectional dividers between areas linked by conveyor plant and made of metal stands (13) covered on both sides with gypsum plaster board or other commercial fireproof boards, or in similar walls, characterised in that a supporting frame (15) manufactured from metal profiles is provided which is in two parts and hence compensates for longitudinal variations in the direction of the height (b), said frame either being independent of the lightweight partition wall (11) and its metal stand (13) or acting jointly with these to take the load of the fire barrier (10), the transverse and tensile forces generated by the rails (14) of the conveyor plant, and the bowing forces (Pwö) generated by the fire barrier (10) during the action of the fire, and safely transmitting them to the adjacent members (16) without thereby stressing the lightweight partition wall (11) itself or its metal stand (13) and/or adversely affecting its mechanical strength in normal operation or its fire protection action in case of fire, - metal profiles, preferably commercial square, angle or C sections in the form of stringers (19) and cross girders (20), are welded or screwed together such that a peripheral frame (21) is produced systematically in the cavity (36) between the fireproofing boards (12, 12a) and in the region of the axial alignments (17) in which are disposed the preset fixing points (13) of the fire barrier (10), said peripheral frame (21) taking the load of the fire barrier (10) independent of the metal stands (13) and transmitting said load to the adjacent structural members (16), - the vertical stringers (19) of the peripheral frame (21) are shorter by the distance (a) required to absorb the longitudinal expansion of the stringers (19) produced by the action of heat in the event of fire than the size of the distance (b) of the height clearance between the adjacent structural members (16), - the peripheral frame (21) formed in this way is welded or screwed on a common end plate (22) and the end plate (22) itself is rigidly connected to the permanent structure (16) by means of conventional fastening elements (23), e. g. metal plugs, - metal profiles shaped to match the design of the peripheral frame (21) in the form of two stringers (24) are welded or screwed on a common end plate (25), thus forming the transverse member (26), which is likewise rigidly connected to the permanent structure (16) by means of conventional fasteners (23), - dimension (c) of the stringers (24) is such that stringers (24) project into stringers (19) of the peripheral frame (21) at least as far as the position of the cross girder (20), which differs depending on the size of the fire barrier (10), and - the peripheral frame (21) and the transverse member (26) are thus freely displaceable one against the other on path (d) when there is slight play.
