A stopper providing a protection for children for closing bottles, flasks, tubes or other containers, comprising a hollow body in the shape of a cup (2, 12, 22) having a thin cylindrical wall with a flat bottom (3, 13, 23), and rigid means (5, 15, 25, 6, 16, 26) connected to the bottom (2, 13) and extending axially in the body of the stopper without projecting out of the neck (8) or of the opening of the container to be closed by this stopper, characterized in that said rigid means (5, 15, 25, 6, 16, 26) are massive and extend in a large continuous part of the bottom (3, 13, 23) of the cup so that a part of the base of the cup is deformable so as to be applied closely against the lower wall of the neck (8) and thereby form a pivot while the opposite part of the base of said cup is deformed by bringing the wall of the stopper away out of the neck (8).
