Abstract

1. Device for intermittently unwinding and cutting film sections from a film roll (10), in particular for supply thereof to a vacuum casting apparatus, comprising a frame (1) which is provided with suction openings (13) and which is movable from a position adjacent the roller in which it engages a film section by suction away from the roller into a position offering the film section to a cutting means (12), characterized in that a plurality of rectangular suction frames (1) are assembled to form a basket (2) which is of polygonal cross-section and which is mounted rotatably intermittently about its centre axis adjacent the film roll (10) and that the subjection of each suction frame (1) to partial vacuum is controlled in dependance upon the rotation of the basket (2) in such a manner that each suction frame during a portion of the rotating of the basket is subjected to partial vacuum and during the remaining portion of the rotation is pressureless.
