The invention relates to a type of combustion engine in which the "piston in the cylinder" working chamber is replaced by an annular chamber, in which a piston of this type is centred on a plate with a strongly supported shaft, without friction and forming a seal. The shaft performs a reciprocating movement over approximately 320 degrees, which movement is converted into a uniform rotational movement by a crank system. A limit with a distributor is fitted in the annular chamber. The distributor ensures that the intake and outlet ports are opened and closed in a certain order.
