Der Abstand der Stege b voneinander entspricht mindestens der Höhe von zwei Filmbildchen, kann aber auch, je nach Stärke des Materials aus welchem das Schutzband besteht, der Höhe von drei, vier oder mehr Filmbildchen entsprechen. Der freie Raum für die einzelnen Filmbildchen zwischen den einzelnen Stegen b ist jeweilig in der Zeichnung mit dem Buchstaben d bezeichnet. Der Abstand der Seitenstreifen s und s' voneinander ist an den Innenkanten genau so groß wie die Breite des eigentlichen Filmbildchens, also etwa 24 mm. -Die Zahneingriffslöcher des Films decken sich mit den Zahneingriffslöchern c -der Seitenstreifen s und s', während die Außenkanten von s und s' die Außenkanten des Filmbandes um etwa je 2 mm überragen. Dies ist durch die Anordnung der Filmhalteklammern a bedingt. Diese Klammern a bestehen aus der Zunge k, welche dreieckig geformt ist und an den Seiten 1-i, i-in aus den Seitenstreifen s und s' herausgestanzt sind, während die Grundlinie der dreieckigen- Zunge, die Seite 1-m, welche dicht am Außenrande von s, s' mit diesem parallel läuft, die Verbindung zwischen der Zunge k und dem Streifens, s' bildet (s. Fig. ra). Die Spitze i des bei l-i-m ausgestanzten Winkels liegt zwischen den Zahneingriffslöchern c der Streifen s und s'. Bei Benutzung des oben beschriebenen Schutzbandes wird der Film _ nicht mehr, wie bisher üblich, mit seinem Ende beim Einlegen in die Filmspule am Spulenkern befestigt, sondern so auf das Filmschutzband gebracht, daß er mit seinen Rändern zwischen die Seitenstreifen s und s' und die Zungen k der Klammern a zu liegen kommt. Er wird nun durch die Zungen k fest auf die unter seinen Rändern liegenden Seitenstreifen s und s' gepreßt und dort festgehalten. Das Einlegen des Films in das Schutzband geschieht folgendermaßen: Die Streifen s und s' werden in ihrer Querrichtung leicht nach unten gebogen, wobei die Zungen k der Klammern a infolge ihres elastischen Materials in ihrer Ursprungslage verharren und sich so aus den Streifen s und s' herausheben (s. Fig. ib). Der Film wird nun der Länge nach mit seinen beiden Außenkanten auf die Seitenstreifen s und s' aufgelegt, so daß die Außenkanten des Films unter die Zungen k zu liegen kommen. Beim Zurückbiegen des elastischen Schutzbandes in seine ursprüngliche Lage drücken nun die Zungen k die Ränder des Films fest auf -s und s' auf. Beim Einlegen des Films ist darauf zu achten, daß die Zahneingriffslöcher des Films genau auf die Zahneingriffslöcher c der Seitenstreifen s und s' zu liegen kommen, und daß die Siege b den 'Film nur an solchen Stellen überqueren, an welchen die einzelnen Filmbildchen aneinander stoßen.The two side strips s and s' of the protective film are connected to one another in a known manner by webs b in order to prevent them from being displaced relative to one another both in the longitudinal and in the transverse direction.
