Abstract
Topical compsn. for treatment of acne is a lotion or cream contg. 1-10wt.% of O-acetylsalicyloyl peroxide of formula (I) (where R1 and R2 are H; and R is Me). Cpd. (I) has the desirable antiacne effects of a mixt. of benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid (as described in DT 2418386), and it also has potent antibacterial activity.
