Description
Process for the production of non-liquid containing calcium chloride Feed. Calcium chloride has recently been used as an addition to feed Success. applied, Of numerous investigations, only the following are briefly indicated: Dr. Meyer-Breslau (Landes. Experimental station) noted the influence of calcium chloride on the increase in the live weight of young, growing cattle. - The The effect on the increase in milk yield is determined by the senior veterinarian Höhnke-Mainz, from the Haug-Darmstadt Economics Council and from some other farmers. About, the beneficial effects of calcium chloride on the state of health and Staff veterinarian Thum and the veterinary council report the performance of the horses Fieweger-Coethen. For sheep, the calcium chloride is provided by the sheep farm director Telschow recommended. The significant increase in weight in piglets was observed by Professor L ö w- Munich and its employees. .Löw and privy councilor Emmerich-Munich report about the favorable influence of calcium chloride on the fertility of the Animals.
The practical application of calcium chloride in agriculture will impaired by = the very salty taste, especially when it is insufficiently diluted and by the fact that the calcium chloride is dispersible in the air, both during transport as well as storage. Because of the easy deliquescence one takes care of it To give animals the calcium chloride in a dissolved state. However, using a Solution in practical agriculture to the extent that it is very inconvenient because the individual Animals depending on their productivity, age, live weight, type of feed, etc. require different amounts of calcium chloride. The metering of the liquid makes the stable staff difficulties because the quantities are small and changing is, for example, a cow of 500 kg live weight only needs a day = o g calcium chloride (calculated on anhydrous salt).
O. Löw, Die chemische Physiologie des Blutes, München, =gx6).Professors Löw and Emmerich have often pointed out that it was when feeding calcium chloride * (or any other calcium compounds) It is important that the calcium remains in the body of the animals and not quickly through the urine is divorced again. The lime is retained when the animal is at the same time absorbs alkalis bound to organic substances, under their influence (after a Intermediate formation of potassium or sodium carbonate in the blood) the alkalinity of the blood is strengthened (see O. Löw, The chemical physiology of blood, Munich, = gx6).
An improvement and simplification in the feeding of calcium chloride to animals can be achieved under a) avoid a strong salty Geschmacles, b) preventing the deliquescence of calcium chloride, c) More convenient allocation to animals in non-liquid - form.
d) Beeinflussung einer guten Zurückhaltung des Kalziums im tierischen Körper, dadurch, daß das Chlorkalzium' in bestimmten Verhältnissen mit' Melasse gemischt, die Mischung in bekannter Weise von trocknen, zerkleinerten Futterstoffen oder von Torfmull aufgesogen und diese Mischung den Tieren gegeben wird.d) influencing a good retention of calcium in the animal Body, in that the calcium chloride 'in certain proportions with' molasses mixed the mixture in known way of drying, crushed Forage or peat soaked up and this mixture given to the animals will.
It is known that calcium chloride is more pleasant with glycocolla and with urea Forms tasting compounds that do not dissolve in the air. Inventor has determined that calcium chloride not only with these two amino compounds, but also with the glutilmin and asparagine contained in the molasses crystallizing double compounds forms. '' By mixing relatively little calcium chloride with larger amounts the beet molasses containing glutamine and asparagine are produced. nitrogenous Compounds of calcium chloride, which have a more pleasant taste, no moisture Attract from the air and with the remaining components of the molasses conveniently to animals can be distributed, in particular. then after the potassium chloride molasses in known Way has been mixed with peat litter or with dry feed. In such mixtures which are to be produced in the factory, the calcium chloride can also be used by inexperienced stable staff using hollow vessels to individual animals comfortably, precisely and to the respective Needs to be measured accordingly. It is also of great importance that the molasses contains alkalis bound to organic substances, through which the reluctance the calcium in the animal body is favorably influenced.
Be suitably departs from a highly concentrated solution of calcium chloride from 35 ° B6 is and in 1 1 about q.009 calcium chloride hereinafter to the manner of manufacture containing a calcium chloride, non-liquid feed, such as calcium chloride-Torfmelasse described Man (as anhydrous salt calculated).
- Pferde haben nach Angabe von Professor Krämer-Hohenheim (Jahrbuch der Deutschen Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft, 1917, S. 416) für je ioo kg Lebendgewicht i bis 2 g, Schweine 3 bis 4 g Chlorkalzium nötig usw.25 liters (-9.7.9 kg) of the concentrated calcium chloride solution, corresponding to 10 kg of anhydrous calcium chloride, are mixed with 725 kg of molasses and then 250 kg of dry peat are added. You get around iooo (or more precisely = 0o2) kg of a mixture which has ioo kg - i kg of anhydrous calcium chloride. A cow needs 2 g of calcium chloride daily for every 100 kg of live weight; for 50o kg live weight, which a cow has on average, one needs 1 kg of the mixture. - According to Professor Krämer-Hohenheim (Yearbook of the German Agricultural Society, 1917, p. 416), horses need 1 to 2 g for every 100 kg of live weight, pigs 3 to 4 g of calcium chloride, etc.
Using hollow dimensions made of wood or sheet metal of a certain size leaves the amount of the necessary for a single animal or for a number of animals Calcium chloride peat molasses is easy to measure. Small deviations in the distribution aw the animals are irrelevant because the mixture contains only 1 percent calcium chloride. Does the farmer go for solid calcium chloride or a strong solution, as before? of this salt, the dilution and distribution of the calcium chloride is one for him or for the stable staff, arduous work in which errors can easily occur can, since in this case it is only a question of small quantities with which otherwise the farmer does not work.
The manufacturer proceeds in the same way if instead of the peat litter: Bran, oil cake flours, dried brewer's grains or other dry animal feed for Soaking up the mixture of calcium chloride with molasses should be taken only with the difference that one has the different absorbency of these feed materials must be observed and choose other ratios between molasses and dry feed must be to obtain a sufficiently dry mass, which is weighed on a scale or can be measured in a measure of capacity. The mixture expediently always contains i percent calcium chloride.
It has already been suggested that chlorine = calcium containing not liquid food and. Manufacture feed by putting the calcium chloride in certain Amount mixed with moisture-absorbent substances and so in a light dosage permitting, non-hygroscopic mass transferred. In doing so, however, one has as a fire ability absorbents either flour in digested or undigested Condition or milk sugar used. Apart from the much higher value of these substances compared to molasses, of course those used in animal feed in large farms seems difficult to apply, it should be noted that the effect in the known Cases must be based on completely different causes than here, where the calcium chloride is present the amines present in the molasses is bound, i.e. to substances that are neither found in the flour or in the sugar. But the beet molasses continues to work because of it high content of vegetable acid alkalis particularly favorable to the restraint the calcium in the animal body, which is what the other known admixtures, like flour and lactose, is not the case.
It is also known per se, MeIasse von peat litter, bran o. The like. to be soaked up and the _ mixture to be used as animal feed. This method in itself is not claimed as new here. The Weser of the new Process lies only in the addition of the calcium chloride, as well as in that it succeeds in the specified way, an at the same time cheap and extremely effective, easy to gain dosable, dry, calcium chloride-containing feed.
