Description

Process for obtaining an agent for sizing paper and paper fibers from the waste liquor resulting from Mitscherlich cellulose production. There are already Process known, which occurs during Mitscherlich cellulose production should make lignin-containing sulphite liquor useful for any purpose; in particular one was striving; to utilize the resin substances contained in this lye in order to thereby to save glueing with expensive American resins. The difficulties which above all stood in the way of a rational recycling of this waste liquor, were due to the fact that the resin substances in the waste liquor were only in low concentration are emulsified. This not only meant the unnecessary transport of large amounts of liquid to be taken in purchase, but it was also necessary to each Dutchman for himself to examine for sizing.

Various chemical methods have been used to remedy this drawback applied, which aimed at the precipitation of the resin from the waste liquor. The addition different reagents now forms on the one hand an increase in the price of the product, while on the other hand, the chemical precipitation means that the emulsion remains inactive for a longer period of time required. According to the present invention, the one used for gluing the paper is now used Centrifuged waste liquor, by which process the resin substances from the deaf Caustic can be easily separated, and it is also possible to use the resin emulsion in the desired concentration.

The Mitscherlich cellulose production both with sulfur how lye from the digesters is drained when processing gravel, as in general Usually, it is passed into a reservoir to remove any free sulphurous acid that may be present to escape. After sufficient cooling, the waste liquor is centrifuged subjected, and in a short time the waste liquor divides so that the outer third of all Contains resin parts. If a lower concentration is desired, centrifugation is recommended only to continue for a very short time, as desired. The concentrated glue emulsion obtained is now bleached in a known manner and added to the Dutch, where the fixation of the glue on the paper stock takes place in the usual way by means of alum. The new procedure In addition to brevity and simplicity as well as great cheapness, it also offers the advantage that the glue dose can be precisely determined once and for all without investigation to have to do it in the Dutchman himself.
