Abstract

This additional application to the main application P 3108131.2 with the identical designation "Internal combustion engine silencer for exhaust systems using wrought aluminium products" improves the design of the main application and in particular introduces a new type of pipe element which increases the acoustic efficiency. The latter comprises a steel pipe, which is provided in sections with hollow aluminium profile sections, the intermediate spaces produced serving as resonators. The overall unit represents a high-grade, corrosion resistant aluminium silencer, which at the same time requires comparatively small dimensions and volumes.
