Der zur Verwendung kommende Apparat besteht im wesentlichen aus einem Gefäfs F, welches die zu destillirende Flüssigkeit enthält, einer Dampftrommel A mit Schlange a, einem Trennungsgefäfs B, in welches die Schlange a mündet, einem Condensator C, der mit B durch ein Rohr b verbunden ist, und einem Exhaustor D von beliebiger Construction.The apparatus used consists essentially of a vessel F which contains the liquid to be distilled, a steam drum A with coil a, a separation vessel B into which the coil a opens, a condenser C connected to B by a pipe b and an Exhaustor D of any construction.

Vom Boden des Condensators C führt ein Rohr h zur Dampfpumpe oder zum Exhaustor D. Die Wirkungsweise des Apparates ist folgende: In die Trommel A wird Dampf oder ein anderes Heizmittel eingelassen, welches die, Schlange α umgiebt, und in den Condensator C kaltes Wasser oder ein anderes Kühlmittel, welches die Röhren c umgiebt.
